Jordan’s Muslim Brotherhood has given King Abdullah II notice that he has until October to bow to their demand to transform the Hashemite Kingdom into a constitutional monarchy or face Arab Spring street pressure for his abdication.
Saudi Arabia, already threatened by Iranian aggression, fears the oil kingdom may be next in line if its northern neighbor is crushed under the marching feet of the “Arab Spring.”
GEE, I didn't see this one coming... NOT!
ReplyDeleteTension gripped Misrata Tuesday after the death of a rebel from the western city who was credited with capturing late Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi, but who was later abducted and tortured in a rival town.
Omran Ben Shaaban, 22, was kidnapped by armed men in July in the oasis town of Bani Walid, which was a final bastion of Kadhafi loyalists in the 2011 conflict, his brother Walid told AFP.
Shaaban tried to escape his assailants but they caught up with him and shot him in the neck and stomach, Walid added.
The Misrata native was freed 50 days later in critical condition thanks to the mediation efforts of Mohammed Megaryef, president of the ruling General National Congress (GNC), who visited Bani Walid last week.
But he later died in a French hospital where he was sent for treatment, Walid said.
Are we concerned about this because we need the oil out of this region or are we concerned about the freedom of these people? Are we concerned that they might all get together to attack Israel? Are there any other concerns we may have about all of this?
ReplyDeleteWe should have weaned ourselves off of foreign oil starting in the early '70's. How much should we really be concerned about any of the other issues?
Oil is only part of it.
ReplyDeleteDo you think 9/11 occurred because the Arabs were trying to protect their oil?
They are attempting to build a huge coalition of extremist Islamic states. Their core of their religion is to take over the world. If you let them chip away your base like a beaver versus a massive trying, eventually the tree comes crashing down.
Apparently, Obama loves beavers.
