Stocks Finished Way Up Yoday

Isn't it amazing with all of the bad news out there that the stock market can move upwards.  Do the movers and shakers know something that we don't?  Is there enough money in hedge funds and other large funds that they can create their own market any time they wish?  Gold and oil are also up which should be an indicator of trouble ahead.
