Obama got a big polling jump

The Dems successfully wallpapered over Obama and gave him a new look. Much like the 2008 election. Now its up to Republicans to get back on message. Four more years of Obama means more economic hardships, more Supreme Court justices, forfeiting second amendment rights, more class and race warfare. Oh and ObamaCare will be firmly entrenched.

  1. In the interests of fairness, could someone from the Democtatic side reply to this post?. An opinion repeated ad nausium has far less effect than an opinon tested by argument of the same quality as the opinion!.

    1. I am not from any side, however, in the interest of fairness I would like to comment. In the first place, second amendment rights have expanded under Obama. In the second place there is no evidence that economic hardships will increase under Obama. Obama has done nothing to promote class or race warfare. Obamacare is already entrenched. As a law passed by Congress, only Congress can amend or modify it, not the President.

    2. Kingston,

You are quite right it “is what it is,” but take all polling numbers with a grain of salt. The White House and Obama Campaign are actively intimidating polling firms to report numbers slanted towards Obama. In the case of Gallup, they were caught red-handed.

    3. One note Mick.... "second amendment rights have expanded under Obama."

Lets be fair here. Obama likes to pass off every other thing to Bush so lets just look at the 2010 supreme court decision. Rightly it happened on Obamas watch but when was it initiated and for what reason. I think you will find that it comes on the tails of two other challenges to the second amendment regarding the rights in DC and Chicago. The laws of these cities were backed by the anti gun lobby, both were supported by Obama as he has given constant support to restrictive gun laws.

  2. A big jump is a perspective.

    General Election: Romney vs. Obama
    Gallup Obama 49, Romney 45 Obama +4

    General Election: Romney vs. Obama
Rasmussen Reports Obama 46, Romney 44 Obama +2

  3. I have no quarrel with the facts, only the inference to be drawn from the associated comments.
The jump is certainly to be expected, we saw the acceptance speeches of both candidates here in full; we also saw the "love ups" presented by the wives. Impartial observers I think would agree the Dem. presentation was superior. Twins Dad has quite properly expanded the "facts" to include opinion. Here is where there needs to be rebuttal. Now, here is my opinion; the disparity in the Polls will soon be lost as more and more topics and carefully scripted releases appear and are manipulated by MSM. I see little of the MSM here; please can anyone advise if there is a bias one way or the other in say W.Post or other major papers.

    1. Superior?

      LOL.

Both sides are somewhat generous with stretching the truth.

      See topics:
      The truth and the lies.
Now Obama is eager. Where has he been for the last 4 years?

The interesting thing about the US is that political ads and the conventions do not have to be truthful and the networks are by law required to run them.

    2. Good point, Lou.

It is amazing to me that, like, toothpaste ads are held to a higher standard of truth ...

    4. Kingston..... Superior? Superior in what way? Both parties try to put on a solidarity show and pat each other on the back with over-layered lies and stretched truths. This year the republicans had a problem child in their ranks that would not go along to get along just to show party unity. This group saw the solutions presented by both 'touted' candidates as bogus.... The only thing superior about the Democrats is that they manage to keep their problem children in the basement and teach them the right way to act in public.... sort of like what they do with most of their constituents...

My thanks for the response. I think there is a minor misunderstanding of the meaning of words between the Aust and US lexicon.
I will rephrase by saying that in the opinion of most impartial observers; the Obama camp provided a more polished and believable performance than the Repubs.
Now I am not silly enough to believe very much of what either of them said. After all, US politics are about a century further into the sewer of avarice and corruption than is the Australian version. We are indeed catching up fast and both nations will be the poorer for our joint efforts.

My sincere apologies; I attributed this topic to Twins Dad when it should obviously have been attributed to Live strongest. My excuse, advancing years and galloping senility!
