  2. THis is the revisionist history going on at the DNC. As much as the Dems would like to claim the mantle of civil rights, they were the ones that initially resisted equal rights.

    For more than 200 years, our party has led the fight for civil rights

    Lie Number Two:
    Democrats have a long and proud history of defending Civil Rights and expanding opportunity for all Americans.

  3. Lie number one is mostly a fair point, Democrats are not he party of Lincoln, but neither are today's Republicans.

    Lie number two is not quite so straightforward. A lot of Dixiecrats left the Democratic party because of their support of civil rights. As a difference, I do believe Democrats do want to see more opportunity for all Americans while I believe that Republicans want to see the most gains go to the best competitors or to those who have enough resources to drive away competition. But I will say this, while the Democrats may preach expanding opportunity for all, they have not done more then pay lip service to that ideal for quite some time.
