Presidential Polling

Pretty amazing that Obama consistently maintains 46-47% but I guess that's to be expected when 50% of people pay zero Federal Income taxes. They need to realize that Obama's foreign policy failures will make our lives miderable.

Although I am strictly neutral here I must question your logic in the post above.
If as you say 50% of the people pay no income tax (Federal) why would you expect them to reassess the position because of the Presidents foreign policy? Perhaps you could develop your theory and flesh out your claim with some facts?. I suggest that the people will be guided more by their tax free threshold than foreign policy.

What would be interesting is an explanation as to the cause of the world wide condemnation of the film produced in America which has enraged the Muslim peoples. Even as far away as Sydney Australia on Saturday we had a large and violent clash with Police outside the American Consulate. The perpetrators were young Muslims and the target was the American representative in Sydney.

    1. Kingston,
I think the point is people who benefit from what Obama supports, redistribution of the wealth, might be willing to overlook quite a bit for that reason.

An explanation as to the cause for the condemnation? That doesn't take rocket science. I haven't seen this film, but if it is insults a key religious figure, then it should be condemned. However, that is hardly a free pass for the believers in that religion to react violently, yes?

  2. The only plank in the Republican platform is "get rid of Obama". Having said that, if Obama does win then the Republicnas have made their party untenable and passe. What then? Sane people will, in the final analysis, vote their own best interest. The Republicans have yet to come up with a convincing argument on that point. Tearing down Obama will not get votes and they do not seem to understand that.

My thanks and "Sane people will, in the final analysis, vote their own best interest." irrespective of party ideology and Livestrongest's personal political creed I do think he should mount an argument to flesh out his contention.
I agree, reluctantly that sane people will follow the largest and brightest carrot dangled in front of them. We are all deep down, political animals who follow the same ideology "what is best for me and how can I get more of it"

    1. Of course. I think self interest was a HUMONGOUS reason, for example, that PPACA was 'front-loaded with goodies'. We have turned down a very sad fork in the road. When government policy is designed to take more from the few and 'give' to the many, until the resources of the few run out, well, I think it is going to be difficult to backtrack to the fork.

      Shake head and sigh.

  4. The film was universally condemned by the Republican party including Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. However, that condemnation was not good enough for the Islamic extremists intent on installing Sharia law in every country of the world.

  5. Nice that there are still 50% of us that still have enough income to be taxed under the current scheme. Does our problem with tax inequity stem from a lack of opportunity or a lack of individual initiative? Maybe there is some truth to both arguments.
