Has anyone been able to stay awake during the democrat convention? I might be able to take a little more seechifying from the cigar master, but all of the ginned up enthusiasm has put me to sleep.
Political conventions, in my experience, are designed for the annointed to preach to the faithful. As such they are numbing at best if you don't belong to the faithful, as you obviously don't.
I find myself becoming more independent all the time. I used to like the republican themes, but they could never practice what they preached. Now, both parties seem to be mouthpieces for the status quo.
In contrast, I'll say one thing, the people at the Democratic convention actually supported the nominee. Both, of course, dump on the other candidate, but I felt like more then one speaker at Romeny's coronation seemed pretty intent on letting the base know they were available after Romney fails.
Max....."In contrast, I'll say one thing, the people at the Democratic convention actually supported the nominee."
Maybe....Looks like a little problem with the "Platform" though. But then the Dems have no dissension in the ranks. I remember someone stating that the Dems were united and there was no division.
The day the Dems have no dissension in the ranks will be a very interesting day. I honestly haven't watched much of it, but I did watch a few speeches on Tuesday night.
I think he did a better job in less than an hour explaining what Obama has done well than Obama has done in the last four years. Whether or not you agreed with Clinton in that regard is a sepaerate discussion.
Say what you want about ol' Bubba, the fact is no President in my lifetime is as capable of working a room as well as him (possibly excepting Reagan, but I was too young to remember).
The Dems want people to think that they are re-electing Clinton or at least re-electing his surrogate. But the truth couldn't be much more different. Obama is a Fascist/Communist. ObamaCare will result in worse health care for all Americans. His rule via executive order is destroying the business environment. It's very anti-competitive and anti-entrepreneur
It's Obama's unique blend. That's why I included both. Obama has pulled his ideology from all sorts of left wing rulers. Heck, he doesn't even follow his own party's rules and at the DNC convention. He doesn't believe in checks and balances.

ReplyDeleteMick says it pretty well.

DeleteI actually miss Clinton.

I do miss Clinton as well as Reagan.
DeletePretty sad that the sitting President uses a real orator to convince people to re-elect him.
On the verge of an economic expansion similar to the 90's?
LOL.

ReplyDeleteCareful LS, you're crossing up your talking points.
DeleteFascists and Communists are opposites - can't be both at the same time.
Better to pick just one and stick with it ...

ReplyDeleteKingston----------so glad you are here! I miss you!
DeleteObama had his photo op with Clinton. Kim Jung Un had his photo op with Mickey mouse. That still doesn't make Kim Jung Un a pro-Western capitalist.
ReplyDeleteMickey Mouse is not a Western Capitalist, he is an imaginary figment of a brilliant mind. He was born of creativity and launched by an entrepreneur.
DeleteHe is simply a role model for Kim Jung Un.
Well Carol....Obama Ain't No Bill Clinton either.
