Can Mitt Romney still pull it off?

This pundit says he can and offers some advice.

  1. One thing America has in common with Australia is the propensity for the talking heads (who often, after a lifetime of effort, have achieved nothing) and for the general public to delight in tearing down candidates.
Surely we should show some tolerance to any one who is prepared to take on the formidable opposition of the cynical and self interested.
Politics through the ages has been a dirty game but it appears to have degenerated even further during the past two decades.

    Cheers from Aussie

    1. Agreed! Politics and sports seem to have developed a side industry of analysts which have almost as much importance as the players and the game.

  2. I often wonder why the media has changed so much. They have always been a bit to the left however now they are far left as demonstrated daily in their biased reporting or lack of reporting. Maybe it's because the internet has made all of the news more readily available and they now are pushing their agenda harder as their relevancy dwindles.

  3. Interesting how little is said of the terrorist acts in Libya by the media only denial from the prez.

  4. My father, a lifelong Republican, calls Romney "the Republican John Kerry." I think he may be right. Romney appears to be a dud.

I thought this election was really the Pubs' to lose and Romney seems to be doing his best to make that happen. His campaign keeps saying, "just wait for the Primary debates," or, "just wait for the convention," or, "just wait for the debates with Obama," etc.

Well, we're "just waiting", and we keep seeing nothing but flubs, missteps, and a general lack of specifics and leadership. If the vote were taken today, I think Romney would lose.

I mean, the man has basically been running for Prez since 2006. He should be better at it by now. Obama is a very beatable incumbent with a bad economy and who isn't even very popular with the Left.

Now the debates are important and can shape the outcome of the election. Romney really needs to objectively perform well.

Frankly, the Romney camp is running out of "just waits".

    1. So, are you saying that both candidates are duds?

I feel like we are at a major crossroads in our history. We have had some great leaders emerge in time like these in the past. I wonder if it was more that the times demanded great leadership, the people demanded great leadership, or that it was just random happenstance. In this particular election, BHO has proven that he can't lead. Maybe Romney has a chance???

    2. Yes, both are duds. Yes, Romney has a chance. But yeah, as things stand today, I think Romney would lose. "Just wait" for the debates, I guess ...

    3. Here, here. A toast to the complete honesty of that statement. Merlot of course.

    4. I suppose the debates will tell, but as Laura Ingram has stated and I wholeheartedly agree, if the republican party blows this chance to unseat this Progressive/Socialist/Marxist president, then they are truly done.

1773-2009 With the end of the republican party true gridlock in Washington DC will reign for four years.

  5. Given the lack of leadership, and a congress with a 15% approval rating, this is Roimney's election to lose. Unfortunately I think his advisors are not doing their jobs, he needs to focus on what the people consider to be important. It's time for him to focus up or give up. That's my humble opinion.
