Reuters does point out GM has recently employed profit-eating incentives and lease specials to boost sales.
GM’s main issue with the article is a claim that the automaker loses as
much as $49,000 on every Volt produced. After performing its own
analysis and interviewing a number of automotive consultancies, Reuters added estimated development costs
of at least $1.2 billion. Finally, the reporters factored in the Volt’s
production costs (estimated in the article to be $20,000 to $32,000 per
vehicle),

Without the bailout of the auto companies, a Republican initiative, the economy would be much worse off than it is today. But the Obama haters continue to spew their venom.
ReplyDeleteThe republican initiative was a bridge loan which allowed operating capital until Obama got in office and decided what he wanted to do. What ever the merits of the initial bailout, Obama is determined to keep GM sales from going in the tank by government fleet purchases. The bailout that keeps on giving....
