Pathetic

It is amazing that so many here are sing songs and holding hand while wishing for peace at the same time Americans are being arrested for speaking out. I am talking about Brandon J. Raub, a 26-year-old former U.S. Marine, and Virginia resident who was ILLEGALLY arrested and stuck in a mental hospital BY OUR GOVERNMENT. Did you hear about it in the mainstream media – no not really as it was radio and many groups like John Birch and FB who got the word out. But according to many of you here this “fear mongering” is so unjustified. Anger is illogical? Gee what PAC do we balm for this? You are so dam pathetic such as waste of time air and space….

  1. Unfortunately Angie we have four main groups of people in the US. The obvious ones who see and don't see and the two others that have blinders one. One wants to believe the best in the government, including the current administration. They feel that the problem is the corporations and while it is fair to say that corporate influence is their for the taking, the integrity of our elected officials is the real compromise, both left and right. The last group is a bunch of ideological patriots who see no wrong in our foreign policy, our war on terror and our use of empirical power and truly believe that we must curtail the civil rights of our own people to make the world safer. What we need a new government from the top down (Clue Obama and Romney ain't it) and we need a new foreign policy..... We will continue to accept infringements to our civil liberties as long as they do not effect us but one day they will....

  2. What is your plan Angie? Do you want to motivate a group of people to protest, or worse? Are you intimately aware of all of the details of this case? Usually, in cases like this there are at least 2 sides to the story. Oh, and by they way, Mr. Raub has been released by the very system that committed him (apparently he was never arrested or charged):

    1. Never arrested or charged just taken away and ordered to 30 mental evaluation UNJUSTLY. The only reason he was released was that there were many groups supporting him and note they did not see this a news worthy. The same news outlets that over politicized a hood attacking a man and then being shot did not see this as news worthy? I guess if he had a long record, convicted rapist, drug user or had a long rap sheet the leftest news media would have come to his aid.

Being taken against ones will and detained without being charged is kidnapping. I guess in liberal land it is alright as long as if it is the "government" doing it?!? What they did was wrong and if someone were to protect themselves from being kidnapped by whatever force they see fit would be justified.

It is called standing up for something you believe in and that take balls.

Now go back to sinning Kum ba fuckenyah along with the other sheeppeople....

    2. So you have balls...again I ask you Mr. Angie, what is your plan? Having balls means much more than sitting around and complaining. Before you go and take drastic actions about this case, I would suggest to you that you investigate some of the major issues surrounding it:

Who, if anyone, in Mr Raub's life alerted the authorities about him and his writings? I read his manifesto that was written in 2011 that is supposedly what triggered this. There was not much difference in it and what you would find on an average day on MW. If that was truly what triggered his commitment, why weren't there several on MW detained as well?

Were there more writings or erratic behaviors that concerned people in his life?

This case kind of reminds me of the Trayvon Martin case. People are stirred up without knowing all the facts. I would like to know what the facts are. I will be stirred up too if the facts tell the story you want to hear.

    3. All you do is bitch Angie. There were plenty of Republican balls in office between 9/11 and 06, and all those balls were tucked as deeply as possible between their legs when it came to questioning the enormous roll back of rights that occurred under Bush. You, in your perpetual victim status, blame everyone BUT yourself and people who think like you do. You never offer anything positive and your parting shot on MW where you called everyone a piece of shit seems to be the depth of what you have to offer.

I don't wake up and sing kumbaya and I don't pretend there aren't major problems with this country, including this current administration which has done nothing to shut down GITMO and continues to let our troops die in Afghanistan for some unknown cause. Our entire political process now has become nothing more then a shit flinging fest, but who is to blame for that? THAT'S what WE vote for. THAT'S what we accept from the people who run the popularity contests we call debates.

If you remotely held every candidate to angry bitter standards you hold Democrats to, it would be one thing. I'm sure many outraged people in America feel like you do, but when it comes down to it, you are likely okay with the silencing of any voice you don't agree with. That's not how things change.

  3. I don't think you would be able to find anyone that would say that there is NOTHING wrong with our country. I think most people know that the government has taken great liberties with the constitution that was ratified with the main focus being to control it. We have a 2 party system and neither party ever really does anything to reverse these trends, yet we will yell and scream at each other over minor details that each party selects as the differences between them at election time. We can peacefully move back to the country we were supposed to be by holding your politicians accountable for their votes. Otherwise, we will begin to listen to hotheads who only see violent answers to our problems. Death and destruction may sound romantic to some, but the reality is that it is ugly, emotionally traumatic, and unnecessary.

Firstly, we have a two party system not by decree but by years of cultivation. That two party system allows for little light to enter the political process. I do think that people are either unaware or apathetic over the changes that are occurring in our 'republic'. If people truly had a clue/interest, their would have been a lot of condemnation over the very undemocratic way Republicans selected their chosen candidate. Ron Paul should have a major speaking spot at the Republican convention but he does not for two reasons. Local, state and national Republican committees worked tirelessly to block his publicity and his position in the process. Any freedom loving republican should be yelling and every democrat should be yelling.... but alas.. no. People in this country will no care about the freedoms and political openness that is being stripped away until they get around to something that 'they' really do care about. By then, the only way to bring about any change in the power structure will be with the violence that neither you or I want to see.

  5. Obama called Mitt Romney's views "extreme" i.e. Mitt Romney is an extremist. I have no idea what the soldier wrote but I have no doubt that the administration considered it extreme before they locked him up.

    1. Appears that the Obama administration considers any views that are critical of theirs to be extreme.
Why else would they establish a web site to deal with the problem of dissension ? Or has everyone forgotten "Attack Watch" this site is where the "faithful" can report those who Dissent.
