Hello Friends And Neighbors
Our country has always had some ideological differences which can divide us on many lines. Some issues simmering under the surface can erupt into violence if allowed to get out of control. There may be some truths in a lot of the things that divide us, but most of the time the main force driving them is emotional responses to fear mongering. It seems that we are being fed class warfare fear mongering themes and these ideas take root easier when the economy is doing poorly. I really hope that something happens soon to ease some of the pain in the working class budgets. I have never felt this level of anger in our society before.

The anger is justified in society today for we are at a crossroads and the point of no return is a fine line. We have many in our society today driven completely by emotion and lack any knowledge of history. They are fed propaganda that promises a land of plenty is just within their reaches. Unfortunately they are being sold the bill of goods that has destroyed other nations and drained the blood of the innocent.
ReplyDeleteAnger therefore is justified when so much is at stake not just for us today but for the next generation. Many rightly refuse to turn their backs on the morals they hold dear and have handed down to their children – thank goodness. There are still those of us who do not want to be given anything as we know all too well the strings attached would only strangle us. Any American who is not angry is not paying attention.
There are indeed a lot of people being sold a bill of goods. I don't think the truth of "Follow the Money" has changed. There is more then a bit of disconnect between the goals of those money is flowing to and the people who are being sucked into doing their bidding.
DeleteAnger and common sense do not frequently go together.
I think stormclould is awakening. I've seen this since '05 and before. We've traveled a long way to get where we are today with fear driving the change in a way we do not and did not in our hearts and souls want to go.
ReplyDeleteWhat I was taught growing up in a Lutheran Grade school is in sharp contrast to many prevailing attitudes today. I wasn't taught to be perpetually afraid of someone stealing my wealth and I wasn't taught that the world is filled only with people who want to work and people who want to rip everyone else off.
DeleteSounds like you were taught the Golden Rule. A society fully indoctrinated in and practicing that rule wouldn't have the degree of sickness we are suffering with now.
DeleteIt is alarming that so many people have become fearful of our government and so much misinformation is being spread across the internet and through PAC sponsored commercials.
ReplyDeleteThe MSM reporting on the misinformation like it is a valid news story is a problem too. It makes it hard to find a non-biased source for news. There may have never been a truly non-biased source for news, but it seems really bad now. This seems to add to the anger.
DeleteAs a shot in the dark, why not demand that each network, and cable affiliates that carry new talk shows, provide one hour of coverage each day that is free of commercial ads. That might be one start.
Delete"It is alarming that so many people have become fearful of our government"
DeleteIt's alarming to me the many people who are not gravely concerned over the way our government operates, the many levels of police authority and the degradation of our bill of rights by precedent setting legislation and executive order that goes unchallenged.... but thats just me.
I don't believe many people truly know how militant we became after 9/11 or realize just how much money was spent after 9/11 in the name of security.
DeleteThe facade of security.
DeleteThe screenings at the airport catch the obvious, in the meantime we have sacrificed out freedoms for the insanity of more government.
It is a truly a sad state of affairs------------
ReplyDeleteA little line in the movie Die Hard seems appropriate.... Hans Gruber: [he puts the walkie talkie up to the screaming crowd after killing one of the hostages, then yells into the walkie talkie] You hear that? Talk to me, where are my detonators? Where are they, or shall I shoot another one? Sooner or later, I might get to someone you 'do' care about!
