Locally here about a half hour from the Jersey shore major tree damage and power outages. Probably won't see power back on for another week or so. We hope!
One friend along the shore reportedly lost his home, another said his was OK but his town was devastated. A close relative said she had a foot of water in her first floor.
Reporting here from Princeton where there is major wind damage an hour from the ocean. Power is hit or miss by street location. Many historic old trees down and being removed.
Long gas lines were forming as people with generators were running out of fuel. Reminded me of the 70's gas shortages. Hopefully more gas stations will be powered up and pumping by tomorrow.
Many people stayed with their homes along the shore which is a Jersey tradition. Thankfully a lot of the summer shore crowd leaves in September and many homes are empty.
Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers out there. It will be a long hard road for those who have lost their homes. We will pull together in Jersey and rebuild.
