Birds of a feather. Obama scores a key endorsement… from Hugo Chavez

"Last week, President Francois Hollande of the French Socialist party gave President Obama an endorsement of the wink-wink variety, knowing that his support wouldn’t likely do much to win President Obama over to any more Americans’ favor; but speaking from Venezuela on Sunday, President Hugo Chavez demonstrated the same level of U.S.-political awareness, minus the even piddling attempt at subtlety."

" Hugo Chavez, by the way, is seeking his third term as Venezuela’s president, with the election scheduled to take place on October 7th. The election process this go-around is ostensibly designed to be free, fair, and private, but something sketchy is definitely up with Venezuela’s polling, and suffice it to say that there are plenty who question the trustworthiness of the infamously corrupt country’s institutions."
" Venezuelan polling firms are painting starkly different pictures of the coming presidential election: One group shows President Hugo Chávez comfortably ahead, while another shows a tight race. …"

Hummmm,,,does this sound familiar?

  1. Why does Obama consider debate preparation a drag?

Because for four years as our self appointed ruler, Obama did not allowed others to question his judgement, question his decisions. When he spoke, THAT was the law. Supreme Court be damned, if he couldn't revoke a law, he would order the law ignored. He become the executive, judicial and legislative branch all at one time. Do what he wanted (like violate the law about layoff notices) and he would reward you(pay for any fines or penalties and the result of violating the law).

But NOW, he can't stage (that we know of) questions by the press. He has to listen to criticism from Romney and his views will be challenged. Something he is not accustomed to.

You know live, I clearly don't agree with you politically. That said, I would never hope that anything untoward happens to you. Whether Obama wins or loses, you seem likely to remain exceptionally bitter and to a tiny degree, I feel bad for you because nothing Romney is saying suggests to me he remotely cares about what seems to be important to you. At best, he may surround himself with some Dick Cheney (Dr. Strangelove) types, but in four years time, Romney will do little to nothing to fix things in the way you would like them fixed.

    1. I agree with you on your Romney comments he may not fix things the way people would like them fixed. I also agree the Obama certainly not fix things but continue down the rabbit hole. What would you suggest? More of the same or a small chance at change???

    2. I guess Lou, it depends on what you really want to see in the long term. In 2000, I voted for Bush because I genuinely believed he was going to be a moderate. I was wrong. If you really believe, as I did about Bush, that Romney will bring change, then vote for him. I would not fault that.

What I keep saying I fault Lou, is the partisan bullshit that are just freaking lies. If spewing that shit is what you have to do to make Romney less disgusting to you then Obama, then spew away. Alternately, you could vote for someone else.

Middle class conservatives have been tricked into voting against their interests just as blue collar workers have. You see the same enormous transfer of wealth upward that I do, yet, come to a completely different conclusion. For 30 years now Lou, the Republicans have made clear what they will do EVERY time they gain control and have also established how they will circumvent power when they don't have it. There are stereotypes about both parties, and then there is the record of what each has done. If you truly have a hair on fire attitude about the debt, can you really believe that when you pull the lever for a Republican they are going to do something about it?

Flawed as Obama is, he has done things that are philosophically in line with my beliefs. Romney are Ryan are telling me in advance they are 180 away from what I believe. It's not a hard choice for me. You feel about Obama the way I do about Romney and that's understandable. Yet, Romney is also saying he will not fix what you believe is important. Why not vote independent or Libertarian?
