  1. Whatever you think about the Donald you have to admit he has brass balls.

    1. Brass balls and a thin skin. This is really kinda bizarre to me. On the one hand, it makes total sense; Trump carries himself as if he was chosen by God to lead a nation that was chosen by God to tell the rest of the world what to do. People who support him seem to eat that shit up and love that Trump talks shit about everyone and promises to make the world bow to America.

On the other hand, this one seems like a bit of a tactical mistake. He probably is not going to lose the support of most of his supporters, but Cruz has started to look a bit savvy. Cruz is challenging him to a one on one debate, which Trump will probably ignore, and I can just picture the ad now saying that if Trump is afraid of a reporter, how's he gonna do when Putin is challenging him.

Trump has never struck me as really wanting to be POTUS. I believe he wants to win and beat the other candidates to satisfy his giant ego, but I'm not sure he wants the big job. maybe being candidate has shown him a lot of what the job is about, which is to say a lot of flesh pressing and cheerleading.

    2. Trump took the air out of the room for the other candidates again with this tactic. The WSJ ran and article today profiling hard core Trump supporters. Seems he plays by a set of rules not understood by the established political and MSM class.

      Should be interesting.

    3. I'll grant you that, Trump does seem to snuff the flames of other candidates every time he gets in front of a camera.

  2. True, but I think he is hurting himself (if that is possible) by skipping this debate. He is also hurting Fox as the ratings will probably tumble.

  3. "By announcing that he will not debate, Trump likely will dominate news coverage and deny Ted Cruz and other opponents a face-to-face confrontation before Iowa Republicans go to caucus," noted The Washington Post.

Whether Trump's gamble is disastrous or brilliant, NBC News noted, "it essentially freezes a race that he's leading." Exactly. Trump's bombshells reflect a mastery of the way we process politics, which Joseph Rushkoff, a keen observer of technology, calls "present shock."

    1. And the fact that the Williams of America eat this shit up just shows you where we are heading and why. it sure ain't the Dems ruining the country.

    2. They were talking about adding a Dem debate before NH. Hillary and the other dude agreed, but Bernie is kinda stalling. It seems historically that closely trailing candidates can often gain some momentum if there is a debate right before the primary, especially if they are in the process of making up ground. Trump right now probably has little to gain from letting the other candidates gang up on him to make themselves look tough right before the caucus. The more I think about it, it might actually be a pretty shrewd move.

It lets Rand Paul back on the main stage, and for at least foreign policy discussions, brings at least one sane voice to that crowd.

    3. I loved that Rachel Maddow produced the Donald Trump show last night. To funny, they can't help themselves. It's like touching a hot stove.

    4. I gotta agree there, they are obsessed with giving him as much air time as possible and I kinda don't get it. I don't want Fox, but do they do this stuff with Hillary and Bernie? Seems like Trump could show up somewhere to build a snowman and MSNBC would go to it live to see if he says anything they can work themselves into a lather about.
