Trump Laps The Field

Billionaire Donald Trump is lapping the Republican field, a new Bloomberg Politics national poll shows, as two prominent governors, Chris Christie of New Jersey and John Kasich of Ohio, rank in the top 10 ahead of the first presidential debate.

Trump was backed by 21 percent of registered voters who identify as Republicans, followed by former Florida Governor Jeb Bush at 10 percent and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker at 8 percent.
“Donald Trump is going to continue to grow because we need somebody who is strong,” predicted poll participant Janet Roberts, 69, a nurse in Bellville, Ohio. “He has the balls to stand up against the career politicians.”
Read the questions and methodology here.
Fox News, the host of Thursday's debate in Cleveland, plans to allow on stage the 10 candidates who fare best in an average of the five most recent national polls. The network hasn't said which polls it will consider, other than that they “must be conducted by major, nationally recognized organizations that use standard methodological techniques” and done before 5 p.m. ET Tuesday.

If the Bloomberg survey were the sole decider, the candidates on the debate stage would be, in descending order, Trump, Bush, Walker, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, retired surgeon Ben Carson, Christie, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Kasich. The remaining candidates in the historically crowded field have been invited to a forum that will be broadcast earlier Thursday when there are typically fewer viewers.

  1. Maybe it's time for all of America to vote for a full, F YOU! candidate so that we can see what that looks like. What I hear frequently quoted is that people believe he will "Be Strong" he will "Stand Up to Career Politicians" he will "Bring back American Jobs"

Conceptually, I feel like it is inevitable that a guy like Trump will eventually be the Republican contender for POTUS. Maybe not this time, but if you listen to him and the people who are clamoring for him, it basically sounds like listening to any conservative pundit. Obama is weak. Obama is big spender. Obama won't work with anybody. Listen to that crap long enough and it seems like the only choice you can make is to go all in on the biggest, loudest, most obnoxious asshole you can find in order to cleanse America of every real and perceived failure Obama has committed.

    1. He will bring American Jobs back.

      ROTFLMAO.

Nothing like a little theater to get the day going strong. What would it take to bring American jobs back?

      1. Cancelling all our Free trade Agreements..
      2. Wage a tariff war on all countries that export product to the USA.
      3. Congress would have to kill the law authorizing the FTA's.
      4. American industry would have to gear up over night to produce the same goods.
      5. China having our technology would easily continue manufacturing everything under the sun.
      6. All those things happen, Americans would have to be willing to buy the more expensive Made in America products.

      Which seems the most likely?
Hint: It's not Americans willing to pay more for products made in America.

I love politics, the blather of Trump, the new war on women from Hillary. The excitement will only build from here as the lies get bigger from all participants.

    2. Yeah, but just for discussion sake, do you think the premise has any merit that if you bitch long enough (liberal or conservative) that you eventually create the perfect caricature of candidate?
