Hillary Clinton has responded to the formal request from “The Select Committee on Benghazi”

Trey Gowdy (R-SC), the chairman of the House Committee on Benghazi, released a statement detailing her answer and the next steps for the committee.
Here was Gowdy’s full statement:
“After seeking and receiving a two week extension from the Committee, Secretary Clinton failed to provide a single new document to the subpoena issued by the Committee and refused to provide her private server to the Inspector General for the State Department or any other independent arbiter for analysis.
We learned today, from her attorney, Secretary Clinton unilaterally decided to wipe her server clean and permanently delete all emails from her personal server. While it is not clear precisely when Secretary Clinton decided to permanently delete all emails from her server, it appears she made the decision after October 28, 2014, when the Department of State for the first time asked the Secretary to return her public record to the Department.
Gowdy continues:
Not only was the Secretary the sole arbiter of what was a public record, she also summarily decided to delete all emails from her server ensuring no one could check behind her analysis in the public interest.
In light of the Secretary’s unprecedented email arrangement with herself and her decision nearly two years after she left office to permanently delete all emails and because the equities at stake involve not only those of the Select Committee and Congress more broadly, but also those of the American people and their right to the full record of her tenure as secretary of State, we will work with the leadership of the House of Representatives as the Committee considers next steps. But it is clear Congress will need to speak with the former Secretary about her email arrangement and the decision to permanently delete those emails.”

The U.S. Code, Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 101, Section 2071, paragraphs a and b, specifically address crimes related to records and reports, and could potentially be used by the Department of Justice to subject Clinton to criminal charges.

  1. The current Department of Justice will only be in power for another 20 months. The U.S. Code won't change. If Hillary wins she can continue the cover up. If not she may have a big problem. This is becoming a life and death struggle for the Clinton's and their foundation.

My last prediction was 60/40 against Hillary running. After reassessment it becomes apparent that HRC has no choice. She has to run and hope to win to continue the cover up.

Just imagine for a moment if she does lose. She will go down in history as having failed during the first Clinton term to forward the socialists health care dreams. She will go down as an enabler to her husbands sexual predator habits and impeachment. She will go down as a Senator without any substantial history of accomplishment. She will go down as a total failure as Sec. of State having left the Middle East in turmoil from Benghazi to Iran's nuclear program progression. Not to mention Russian expansion following her famous "reset." She will most likely sweep the "Clinton Global Initiative" to the dust bin.

History may not be kind to Hillary. Basically if she is unsuccessful she will go down in history as a loser. This sets the stage for an upcoming slash and burn campaign to protect her legacy. Any lie will not be big enough, every slander will be on display. Her attack dog minions Carvelle, Davis, Begala have already been active.

This is going to get real messy.

  2. William,HRC will certainly be remembered by Republicans as a complete failure, her character will be besmirched in all the right wing press and by self opinionated bigots on the blogs. As time passes, the Republicans get the keys to the house on Pennsylvania avenue and the Democrats get to work in tearing down the character of the occupant. All this is so predictable and so unnecessary, why cannot your nation try to educate your citizens about politics and the value of reasoned debate. Both sides are guilty in an equal measure and every time someone voices an opinion such as yours, the problem gets worse.
I have read opinions from the kitchen lawyers that HRC has committed almost every crime from treason to murder. There is never substantive evidence but innuendo aplenty to support the opinions so freely offered. To date I have not read an opinion from the Justice department which condemns HRC. The Gowdy investigation appears to be nothing more than a farce and I am surprised so many in your country are hanging on every word. If I, as an interested foreigner can feel strongly about this even as a nominal supporter of the Republican party, what does it say for the vast electorate of silent voters in your country?.

On the day your current Pres was elected, I posted on the old MW site the opinion that perhaps the election of a black man was the opportunity for much needed change. I was vilified by about a hundered posts from people who accused me of everything possible; and many impossible!. As with my own country, I am left disappointed that your Pres has been unable to get the changes needed. Excesses on all sides of politics I suppose are inevitable, what is also inevitable is the propensity of sections of your citizenry to tear down that whatever the government tries t build. I really despair and as one interested in history I see nothing but self inflicted pain for your great nation.

    Cheers from Aussie.

    1. King HRC cleaned her private server two years after a congressional committee asked for all records in her possession. Of course Obama's justice department won't pursue, don't be so naive. She may have also douched her machine after the State Department requested same records. She is a lawyer for heavens sake, but then again facing disbarment never bothered a Clinton.

If she doesn't win king time will not be kind to her highness. I hope she runs. I await her answers.

    2. There are zero email records for the period surrounding the Benghazi issue. HRC turned over 30,000 emails. Not one of them about Benghazi.

      Concealment of evidence.
      Distruction of evidence.
      Obstruction of Justice.

      Where is the server?
If it no longer exists who destroyed or removed it from HRC's property?
If AG Holder had balls he would bring charges.
The supreme court held that Nixon's tapes were the people's records.
Nixon at least fell on his sword.

Are people in the State Department complicit in the coverup?
Will Bill Clinton testify as to what was on his server?
Did the secret service aid in the coverup?

    3. “In a letter provided to the committee, Kendall said Clinton would not be turning over the server to a third-party for review and that the emails no longer exist on the private server located in her New York home. “There is no basis to support the proposed third-party review of the server that hosted the hdr22@clintonemail.com account,” Kendall wrote. “To avoid prolonging a discussion that would be academic, I have confirmed with the secretary’s IT support that no emails…..for the time period January 21, 2009 through February 1, 2013 reside on the server or on any back-up systems associated with the server.”

Who directed HRC's IT support to destroy records?
