Glad you solved that. That's another thing off my plate to think about today.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you and the Donald goo over to Syria and solve that problem also. You both seem to really "Get" it.
ReplyDeleteWilliam... It is all Americas fault...
ReplyDeleteI guess using the words racist, bigot and xenophobe no longer have the same emotional impact on the rank and file masses of the left so it is now acceptable to call everyone that doesn’t agree with them ‘fascists’..
Trump is a fascist... But I wouldn’t say he is like its creators Wilson and FDR... (Both Hitler and Mussolini praised FDR... They just thought he wasn’t aggressive enough... damn 2nd amendment) At least I haven’t heard him talking about shutting down journalists like Wilson or recruiting a brown shirt brigade like FDR but.... He’s a fascist.
Trump wants to violate the constitution by keeping out a group of people who want to do us harm... As if our constitution prevents the president from excluding any groups of people from entering our country as was the policy of FDR, Truman and JFK when they most generally excluded people from Africa and Asia.
Because you agree with Trump, William... you are a FASCIST! So do you feel bad now? So STFU! Merry Milad un Nabi!
"I guess using the words racist, bigot and xenophobe no longer have the same emotional impact on the rank and file masses of the left so it is now acceptable to call everyone that doesn’t agree with them ‘fascists’.."
DeleteKinda have to agree that these words get overused to the point of weakening their meaning. Doesn't mean people aren't accurate once in awhile when they use them, but they have been used so often that when someone is tagged with that label, they can use the go to excuse that the left says this about everyone.
According to Wiki, Fascism is a form of radical authoritarian nationalism, and it's typically seen as far-right and the left-right spectrum. Objectively, I don't think it occurs in a vacuum, which is to say, I think the populous needs to be ripe and manipulated into accepting a drop the hammer solution. Trump is not the only one in that chorus right now demanding that we do something about the A-Rabs who want to kill us.
I said it on another thread, Trump is less the issue to me than the environment that gives him unquestioned support when he promises to be our Daddy and keep away the bad things. As Rand Paul fades into the sunset, so to does the chance to see us become less interventionist and less militaristic. Above all things, Trump, to me, is a salesman and I think he is clearly tapping into a militant view that already exists in this country. It doesn't matter who you think is to blame for that view.
Just this week I heard Baba ask Trump if he was a bigot.
ReplyDeleteI saw Trump with his hand raised "Heil Hitler" like on the cover of a magazine.
I heard the GOP insiders had a meeting to discuss a brokered convention.
I heard the GOP speaker of the house call Trump out.
I heard 100% of the left wing media call Trump out (What else is new).
I heard Bill O'Reilly infer that he was stupid concerning his stance on Muslim immigration.
I guess he must be a fascist.
I guess even though I don't currently support Trump I must be a fascist.
TS, I guess that you even mentioning that Wilson (Segregationist, Racist) and FDR (Internment Camps)were fascists makes you a fascist.
I guess Jimmy (Pinko) Carter must have been a fascist because he cut off Iranian immigration.
I guess the entire country was fascist from 1924-1965.

Going to the closet now to take off my Tea Party hat and put on my brown shirt.
Cheers
There has been a decline in civility when people discuss big issues. We all access a huge amount of information today, but it actually seems to have made people less informed. There is so much information that people are no longer sure what makes sense.

DeleteAs I look at William's list above showing where Muslims are happy and where they are not each list of countries have similarities. The countries in the unhappy list are the ones with totally authoritarian governments, past authoritarian governments or highly restrictive governments. Those on the happy list are the countries that give their citizens abundant freedoms and have a concern for basic human rights. In a way TS is right, they blame America. Not for their woeful living conditions but for our past interference propping up dictators. Today a different set of Muslims still blame us. These are those who wish to stay in power as the common people attempt to throw off the yoke of authoritarian control, be it al Qeada who wanted to control minds or today ISIL who want control the entire middle east. Seems we are always in the way of somebody's evil objectives over there. This is where people like Donald Trump are wrong. The majority of Muslims leaving Syria and the middle east are the same as every other huge migration of people. They are looking for freedom and safety. Nothing wrong with that. But I also get his thinking that evil muslims could slip through and cause trouble, death and destruction in America and other countries of the west. But what we have seen so far in France twice, and in San Bernardino is that the instigators of trouble were not middle eastern muslims at all. Each and every one was a citizen of the country where they did their dirty work. So does stopping muslims from coming here really solve the problem?
DeleteIou, Saying we have to much information is like saying a library with one book is superior to a library with 100,000 books. When we had only three TV broadcast news channels the propaganda was homogenized and so easy to digest. But in the end it was largely propaganda. The Soviets solved their information problem by providing only one government sponsored source.
Delete"When we had only three TV broadcast news channels the propaganda was homogenized and so easy to digest. But in the end it was largely propaganda."
DeleteWhy is it then that you only quote from homogenized sources?
Rick,
DeleteAgree wholeheartedly with your post here. Spot on.
William,
DeleteHow many sources do you need?
Look at the internet and the left regurgitates anything derogatory to the right as the right does exactly the same thing. Broadcast TV is a repeat station to station. Cable you have a choice of left or right. Difficult to find an unbiased news source. Difficult to find a site that reports all the news not just what they like.
No wonder people are either far left, far right or confused and walk away.
