Only in America

JUSTICE TO PROBE CENTER FOR MEDICAL PROGRESS — While congressional committees investigate Planned Parenthood’s practices, the Justice Department agreed to look into whether the group that released the sting videos obtained the footage legally. In response to a request by House Democrats, Attorney General Loretta Lynch said Wednesday afternoon that Justice would “review all of the information and determine what the appropriate steps moving forward would be.” Planned Parenthood has staunchly defended its practices and claims that the Center for Medical Progress illegally obtained its footage, then excessively edited it to misrepresent what the organization does.

Four Democrats in Congress — Reps. Jan Schakowsky, Zoe Lofgren, Jerry Nadler, and Yvette Clarke — have written to Attorney General Loretta Lynch and California Attorney General Kamala Harris, asking them to open investigations into the Center for Medical Progress. The Democrats say the videos were filmed as part of an “elaborate scheme” — using “fake identification” and without the approval of the Planned Parenthood doctor who appears in them.

It’s interesting that Lynch decided so early to make a statement about the group. There are certainly more videos to come, and if Planned Parenthood’s panicked press releases are any indication, the footage may be far more damaging than anything that’s been revealed thus far. However, given the abject politicization of multiple agencies under Obama’s command — including the Internal Revenue Service, which targeted conservative non-profits, and the DOJ, which has been hesitant to investigate Obama allies — it seems unlikely that Lynch and those who report to her will ever crack down on Abortion, Inc.

No probe into Planned Parenthood, only into the organization outing them.

Life in Obama's America.

p.s.  This one's for you William.

    1. Think Planned Parenthood has done no wrong?

      Just curious.

    2. Organizationally, no, I don't think Planned Parenthood has done something wrong. This is not to say that I feel confident there isn't a single office within the entire, very large network of Planned Parenthood that hasn't done something wrong. But as an organization that offers a vast array of services, an array in which abortion is a small piece of what they do, no, I don't believe there is an ingrained, intentional desire to break any law.

Tactically, it kinda makes sense for the wing nuts to go after planned parenthood. They don't give a damn about anything else that PP offers, but if they could pull an ACORN like hit on them, that would be a huge victory for them. With that in mind, I believe that PP is much more cognizant of playing by the rules, at least at the top level.

    3. The injustice department is a joke. Holder and Lynch are Obama toadies.

If congress has balls they will slash the PP stipend by half and put it on Obama ' s desk.

Of course those like Jerry Nader will scream like stuck pigs as his New York City abortion empire appears in peril. What a seamless way to kill black babies and control their population Jerry. Crush their little black skulls. Suck out their little black brains.

Paint the White House blood red for the over one thousand babies that PP will kill today.

    4. I can see why you would say this, your concern for people of color is always present in the comments you make.

    5. Please display one of my comments bigmouth. Oh so fucking pious leftest asshole who supports the black baby killing machine.

" Minority women constitute only about 13% of the female population (age 15-44) in the United States, but they underwent approximately 36% of the abortions.

According to the Alan Guttmacher Institute, black women are more than 5 times as likely as white women to have an abortion

On average, 1,876 black babies are aborted every day in the United States."

Don't believe me asshole? Read the article.

    6. "Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in America. 78% of their clinics are in minority communities. Blacks make up 12% of the population, but 35% of the abortions in America. Are we being targeted? Isn't that genocide? We are the only minority in America that is on the decline in population. If the current trend continues, by 2038 the black vote will be insignificant. Did you know that the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was a devout racist who created the Negro Project designed to sterilize unknowing black women and others she deemed as undesirables of society? The founder of Planned Parenthood said, "Colored people are like human weeds and are to be exterminated." Is her vision being fulfilled today?"

    8. Malthusian Eugenics

Margaret Sanger aligned herself with the eugenicists whose ideology prevailed in the early 20th century. Eugenicists strongly espoused racial supremacy and "purtiy"," particularly of the "Aryan" race. Eugenicists hoped to purify the bloodlines and improve the race by encouraging the "fit" to reproduce and the "unfit" to restrict their reproduction. They sought to contain the "inferior" races through segregation, sterilization, birth control and abortion.

Sanger embraced Malthusian eugenics. Thomas Robert Malthus, a 19th century cleric and professor of political economy, believed a population time bomb threatened the existence of the human race. He viewed social problems such as poverty, deprivation and hunger as evidence of this "population crisis." According to writer George Grant, Malthus condemned charities and other forms of benevolence, because he believed they only exacerbated the problems. His answer was to restrict population growth of certain groups of people. His theories of population growth and economic stability became the basis for national and international social policy. Grant quotes from Malthus’ magnum opus, An Essay on the Principle of Population, published in six editions from 1798 to 1826:

      Delete
    9. All children born, beyond what would be required to keep up the population to a desired level, must necessarily perish, unless room is made for them by the deaths of grown persons. We should facilitate, instead of foolishly and vainly endeavoring to impede, the operations of nature in producing this mortality.

Malthus disciples believed if Western civilization were to survive, the physically unfit, the materially poor, the spiritually diseased, the racially inferior, and the mentally incompetent had to be suppressed and isolated–or even, perhaps, eliminated. His disciples felt the subtler and more "scientific" approaches of education, contraception, sterilization and abortion were more "practical and acceptable ways" to ease the pressures of the alleged overpopulation.

Critics of Malthusianism said the group "produced a new vocabulary of mumbo-jumbo. It was all hard-headed, scientific and relentless." Further, historical facts have proved the Malthusian mathematical scheme regarding overpopulation to be inaccurate, though many still believe them.

Despite the falsehoods of Malthus’ overpopulation claims, Sanger nonetheless immersed herself in Malthusian eugenics. Grant wrote she argued for birth control using the "scientifically verified" threat of poverty, sickness, racial tension and overpopulation as its background. Sanger’s publication, The Birth Control Review (founded in 1917) regularly published pro-eugenic articles from eugenicists, such as Ernst Ruin. Although Sanger ceased editing The Birth Control Review in 1929, the ABCL continued to use it as a platform for eugenic ideas.

Sanger built the work of the ABCL, and, ultimately, Planned Parenthood, on the ideas and resources of the eugenics movement. Grant reported that "virtually all of the organization’s board members were eugenicists." Eugenicists financed the early projects, from the opening of birth control clinics to the publishing of "revolutionary" literature. Eugenicists comprised the speakers at conferences, authors of literature and the providers of services "almost without the exception." And Planned Parenthood’s international work was originally housed in the offices of the Eugenics Society. The two organizations were intertwined for years.

The ABCL became a legal entity on April 22, 1922, in New York. Before that, Sanger illegally operated a birth control clinic in October 1916, in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York, which eventually closed. The clinic serviced the poor immigrants who heavily populated the area–those deemed "unfit" to reproduce.

Sanger’s early writings clearly reflected Malthus’ influence. She writes:

Organized charity itself is the symptom of a malignant social disease. Those vast, complex, interrelated organizations aiming to control and to diminish the spread of misery and destitution and all the menacing evils that spring out of this sinisterly fertile soil, are the surest sign that our civilization has bred, is breeding and perpetuating constantly increasing numbers of defectives, delinquents and dependents.

    10. excerpt of an address Sanger gave in 1926. In it she said:

It now remains for the U.S. government to set a sensible example to the world by offering a bonus or yearly pension to all obviously unfit parents who allow themselves to be sterilized by harmless and scientific means. In this way the moron and the diseased would have no posterity to inherit their unhappy condition. The number of the feeble-minded would decrease and a heavy burden would be lifted from the shoulders of the fit.

she argued that birth control clinics, or bureaus, should be established "in which men and women will be taught the science of parenthood and the science of breeding." For this was the way "to breed out of the race the scourges of transmissible disease, mental defect, poverty, lawlessness, crime … since these classes would be decreasing in number instead of breeding like weeds."

    13. Thank you William. Never, have you provided such an abundance of return for one sentence of trolling. It just makes me tingle inside when you call me an asshole, but if I can pull an epithet of pious out of you on the same day? WOW, that's a good day.

No doubt you have had a response like this prepared to unload for some time in the event that someone tried to call out the false moral crusade this is. It's not 1926 anymore and regardless of how misguided that chick was, and she is far from being the only one to think in such a manner, it is now 2015. Because of it's size, it is not surprising that PP is the largest abortion provider in the US. This is one of those things that for people like you is the perfect opportunity to erupt with false righteousness that this is killing black babies. Because you don't like abortion, you jump on this because you can then break the emergency glass like you did here and unleash your torrent you have been saving for just such an occasion. The point you make is not without merit. The fact it comes from you, however, makes it less than believable.

  2. A shame most people miss the point entirely.

Did planned parenthood break the law?
How did the DOJ decide they did not without an investigation?
How did the DOJ decide Center for Medical Progress illegally collected the information, because planned parenthood said so?
Is this a politically motivated hatchet job for the DOJ?

The real issues at hand, leave the personal insults your biases and address the issues.

    1. The real issue is abortion. Period. Some people will fight till their very last breath to see it overturned, and other directly opposite minded people will fight just as hard to see that it stays legal. This is like Obama's birth certificate. We could spend a shitload of money conducting an investigation and if it was determined that PP didn't break the law, the people who want abortion overturned, who are all right of center, will claim the investigation was a sham.

I'm not missing the point. A certain segment of America wants to end abortion. That is the only point here.

    2. Abortion aside, did PP break the law?

Did the Center for Medical Progress illegally collected the information?

How can the DOJ make a determination to investigate the Center for Medical Progress yet not investigate PP?

Is this a politically motivated decision from the DOJ?

Has the DOJ become a political wing of the presidents party?

Abortion is here to say no matter what the opposition wants, says, does, the SCOTUS has said so with Roe vs. Wade. That is unlikely to change.

The questions are valid and have absolutely nothing to do with abortion.

Or if some prefer we can say nothing to see here, just move on. Will you be as forgiving of a GOP administration if they were to over reach?

    3. Considering what we just went through with Bush's administration, your last question is kind of interesting. Abortion aside? Please. Abortion is the first and last issue here.

As of right now, I am 30 pages into reading the full transcript. I see nothing objectively at this point that makes me think they broke the law, and in fact, the person from PP, has said several times this is not about making money, this is not about making profit. But again, it doesn't matter. Those who oppose abortion will not settle for any outcome that shows PP didn't break the law.

  3. Louman, I agree, we need a compete and rigorous investigation by an unbiased committee, if such can be found, to determine the truth.

I don't know if you saw, but the recent theater shooter, who was mentally impaired, thought he was being a hero by killing innocent people. Influenced by hate sites on the web, he felt that liberals were destroying America. Hate is Satan's dung.

    1. This country appears to be spiraling out of control. I wonder is it because of the politicians who are certainly more polarized in recent years. Is it because the people are sending highly partisan representatives to Washington? Is the divisive politics exercised by both parties the cause of so much hatred?
