Here's Another One

Washington (CNN)Congressman Bill Shuster is in a "private and personal relationship" with a lobbyist who works to influence the House panel that Shuster leads, the Pennsylvania Republican said Thursday.
Shuster, who heads the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and Shelley Rubino, the vice president for global government affairs for Airlines for America, became involved with each other last summer, Politico first reported Thursday.

"Ms. Rubino and I have a private and personal relationship, and out of respect for her and my family that is all I will say about that," Shuster said in a statement.
It is not clear that ethics laws appear have been violated: Rubino does not lobby Shuster directly, according to the Politico report, though she can lobby other members of the committee.
Shuster' succeeded his father, Bud, who chaired the same committee for years and stepped down in controversy over accepting gifts from a former aide who became a powerful industry lobbyist.

  1. At this point what difference does it make, who cares anyway?

Politicians lie, cheat, steal as they are human. We as people understand and accept their limitations. Then we vote for them again, again and again.

Why is it such a big deal?

If Obama can lie repeatedly, why can't a mere Senator or Representative lie?

We have been conditioned to accept less and live with it and say so what.

  2. Actually, if you check our Politifact.com you can see comprehensive lists of statements made by and about all of our politicians, divided into categories of true, mostly true, mostly false and pants-on-fire. Obama has told some real whoppers, but so have most all the people researched. Ted Cruz is one of the record holders and Hillary has her share too. Check it out.

    1. I like that ISIS one: "ISIS camp a few miles from Texas, Mexican authorities confirm."

Governments say nothing doing ... ergo... FALSE

And that of course is what you would call... The Gospel
