Desensitize the population

Video footage sent to Infowars by a listener in Staunton, Virginia shows armed National Guard troops carrying out maneuvers near a public playground yesterday morning.

“This was a Sunday morning exercise. They appeared to be heading to carry out PT (physical training) at some other location,” the man who shot the video tells us. “This was in a city park and people were walking, jogging, and enjoying the playground with their children.”

“What struck me were the M1As or M16s they were carrying (whether real or plastic) I could not tell the difference. I drove up as close as possible to them as they turned to my left onto the sidewalk,” he adds.

One of the soldiers confirms that they are part of the 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, which is currently assigned to the Virginia Army National Guard and is based out of the Thomas Howie Memorial Armory in Staunton, Virginia. The troops were filmed at Gypsy Hill Park, which is situated next to the Armory.

The Guard troops behave in a friendly manner and are willing to engage in casual conversation, but some have expressed concerns about armed personnel conducting maneuvers in public, suggesting that such activity should be done on base.

Others insist that the activity is perfectly routine and nothing to be worried about.

Last week, we featured a video out of Ontario, California which showed National Guard troops marching down a residential street while chanting military cadence and performing traffic control drills. Some locals claimed that such public drills were not commonplace.

Concerns about military personnel operating in public places are heightened in anticipation of the nationwide Jade Helm military exercise, a drill which will revolve around soldiers operating “undetected amongst civilian populations,” to see if they can infiltrate without being noticed.

A National Guard exercise based around dealing with civil unrest after a dirty bomb attack in Richmond, California which took place earlier this month featured role players acting as angry Americans yelling ‘right-wing’ rhetoric.

Footage captured by a local shows Guard troops pushing irate citizens away with batons before one of the protest group states, “I’m a sovereign citizen, I refuse to recognize you guys, I refuse to recognize you.”

Disturbing video out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida last month also showed military and law enforcement practicing the internment of citizens during martial-law style training.

  1. This is an outrage. US soldiers, in US uniforms carrying US weapons on the streets of America and marching in formation calling the cadence. This activity must be in breach of laws and conventions set in stone!. Can someone please supply a reference as I get a “Mot available” response.

What would you have William, a bunch of transsexuals in skirts and cowboy boots marching along the sidewalk carrying bunches of flowers. Be careful what you wish for William, I am sure you will be among the first to support the Army command if and when they are needed to defend your God given rights. I am amazed that some one who places so much emphasis on your “rights” places so little emphasis on your responsibility to support the military who are called on to perform duties on behalf of the civilian population ,not because they want to, but because the military code tells them they must do so.

    Cheers from Aussie

I know you haven't noticed King but Obama has purged a large portion of sitting generals. I have lived for over 40 years very close to Fort Dix-Mcguire Air Force bases and have never experienced anything like what is described in these articles. What I have noticed lately are many of these "practice emergency exercises." These exercises are no longer attended only by State police and local EMT organizations, but now include Guard and other DHS elements. People just get used to helicopters and drones flying overhead, desensitized.

I am very concerned. We cannot get rid this regime soon enough.

    3. It has been stated in the past that these troops are practicing in urban environments that can't be easily duplicated on a military base for situation that might occur around the world....

Muh... I can agree with the different and unknown environment thing to some extent but when they say that these troops will be wearing 'civvies' to blend in to the local population... well… I'm pretty dubious as to how effective this training might be in most of Asia, Sub Continent Asia, Middle East , Africa or .....South America... hummmm... perhaps that’s why so many from south of the border... we are building a subversive army that can blend in and we are going to attack South America!... you heard it here first folks…. Or maybe you just won’t know if that guy in McDonalds is going to give you a burger or an M-16 round…..

“This activity must be in breach of laws and conventions set in stone!.”
Except for armed forces day and those types of organized shows…. I don’t really want to see my countries offensive capabilities on my high street. They have the best equipment in the world, the best training facilities in the world, best living quarters in the world, the best food in the world and arguably the best pay and benefits in the world…. Responsibility?.... you mean putting them up in my house after a long day of subversive training in my neighbourhood?.... right.

Much more going on here than passes the smell test… Sometimes I don’t know if you are just argumentative… or…. well... never mind.

    1. There is no doubt that the Bilderberg exist… there is no doubt that an inordinate number of world leaders belong to this exclusive club… I am sure that they just get together once a year to talk about family and trade vacation stories….. I mean… what else would political people talk about but power and how to get more… but speculation about that kind of silliness would be considered conspiracy by some….

    2. For what reason Mick would our Guard need to maneuver dressed in civilian garb? This begins to sound like the secret police to me. Of course you change the subject or as Hillary states simply "distractions."

We need to get down to the people's business: spending money out of our assholes. Everything else is a distraction.

    3. I don't know William, the local Guard uses our greenway where I ride for PT uses. They run the march sometimes in "civies" sometimes in uniform to the hilt. I really don't give two shits. they have to do what they have to do to be ready, and I see the convenience of this, it is marked off every 1/4 mile with a mile post. Like myself exercising the Guard can easily determine how far they have marched or run. And they can get onto the greenway within a mile of their armory.

  4. I would love to see them hold these covert maneuvers in New York, Newark, or Detroit. What are they desensitizing the military for anyhow? To quash the next 80 year old Clayvon Bundy when he pops up and tries to protect his historical grazing rights?

We talk about the defense budget. The republicans don't have balls between their legs if they don't defund this unconstitutional activity immediately. And I mean yesterday.

King rails on about the 2nd. How about self protection against this type of military non-forbearance?

  5. "Perhaps the government really does have our best interests at heart. Perhaps covert domestic military training drills such as Jade Helm really are just benign exercises to make sure our military is prepared for any contingency. As the Washington Postdescribes the operation:

The mission is vast both geographically and strategically: Elite service members from all four branches of the U.S. military will launch an operation this summer in which they will operate covertly among the U.S. public and travel from state to state in military aircraft. Texas, Utah and a section of southern California are labeled as hostile territory, and New Mexico isn’t much friendlier."

    3. "Cindy Archer, one of the lead architects of Wisconsin’s Act 10 — also called the “Wisconsin Budget Repair Bill,” it limited public-employee benefits and altered collective-bargaining rules for public-employee unions — was jolted awake by yelling, loud pounding at the door, and her dogs’ frantic barking. The entire house — the windows and walls — was shaking. She looked outside to see up to a dozen police officers, yelling to open the door. They were carrying a battering ram.

“I was so afraid,” she says. “I did not know what to do.” She grabbed some clothes, opened the door, and dressed right in front of the police. The dogs were still frantic. “I begged and begged, ‘Please don’t shoot my dogs, please don’t shoot my dogs, just don’t shoot my dogs.’ I couldn’t get them to stop barking, and I couldn’t get them outside quick enough. I saw a gun and barking dogs. I was scared and knew this was a bad mix.”

It is not pretty when the extreme left wields police powers.
