Sometimes the truth  REALLY DOES come out

truth that matters

Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC) told a local television station that she would not be deferring her pay during the government shutdown, as some other members have done.
"I need my paycheck. That's the bottom line," Ellmers told WTVD in Raleigh, N.C. "I understand that there may be some other members who are deferring their paychecks, and I think that's admirable. I'm not in that position."
According to Ellmers's official website, she was a registered nurse for 21 years before being elected to Congress. Her husband Brent, the website says, is a general surgeon.
Democratic Rep. G.K. Butterfield also told WTVD that he wouldn't be deferring his pay. "I don't think there should be a shutdown," he said. "I didn't create the shutdown."

  1. Why does this matter. Tea Party activist Renee Ellmers represents NC Congressional district #2. Sitting in NC District#2 is a small little government entity known as Fort Bragg. I say small sarcastically as Fort Bragg is the largest U S military base in the world. Fort Bragg has furlough 7000 civilian defense dept employees due to sequestration and the recent government shutdown. I would have to ask Mrs Ellmers the wife of a surgeon, Don't you think those 7000 defense dept workers might have needed their paychecks also. And I bet none of them are married to a surgeon. Thank god with the incredible gerrymandering of this state by the Republican party this woman no longer represents me. This is the same that when we had tornadoes in 2011 in this area which was at the time represented by Renee Ellmers, tornadoes that cut a swath from one corner of her district to the other, tornadoes that hit near and around her hometown of Dunn, NC well she was a no show, never came never did anything for the people she represented. But you know who did show up? G K Butterfield (NC1) who's district was mildly hit. The future of America the tea parties. I think not. "Selfish" should be your motto. Hey that's 7 letters I bet we can come up with a phone number that spells that>

  2. Rickey...." Don't you think those 7000 defense dept workers might have needed their paychecks also."

Maybe you should ask Harry and the rest of the Dem controlled Senate.

You know It's their way or no way !

  3. We will agree to disagree as to whole fault it is. you in? It's congress all of them they all have the my way or no way attitude. Most of our law makers have foregone getting paid while this shutdown lingers. Only Renee Ellmers one of the tea party darlings made such a statement "I need my Paycheck." Please Rojay tell me why the conservatives are the only ones who are right. Both sides have good points both have an incredible amount of bad points. You act like it is a one way street just like the rest of the teabaggers. All of them are out of line. Yes including your darling little teabaggers

  4. Update: after the cascade of hell the befell this woman she has now decided to withhold her pay during the shutdown. Just a damn shame it took the force of the people for her to see what is fair to her constituency. Really a bad representative of her district.

    1. Obama has been a total failure as a president. He hangs his "legacy" on one slim twig, Obamacare. He passed this obamanation using reconciliation with not one vote in support from the minority.

He is willing to take down what's left of our nation to protect his wet dream.

I wish a long life for our president. In reflection of how he f___ed our country.
