Nice Spin..... I thought it was the self serving republicans who shut down the government..... The article also articulated just what a cooperative and accomodating public servant the president has been.... Wow... What a guy!

Only 10% of Americans say they have confidence in Congress, the lowest approval rating on record. The modern era of bitter partisanship and self-inflicted budget crises has coincided with a 20-point drop in Congress’s approval rating, but that seems only to encourage more of the behavior Americans find repulsive. “It’s very hard … to figure out who has lost their minds,” Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) mused recently. “One party, the other party, all of us.” Yes.
ReplyDeleteThat statistic is a bit of a red herring giving that the people who have lost confidence in the ability of congress to operate are just as divided as to which CONgress members are to blame.....
DeleteI understand that. The low rating holds for Senate and House, Republican and Democrat.
DeleteWASHINGTON (AP) -- There's at least one constant in a government shutdown: The 532 members of Congress continue to be paid - at a cost of $10,583.85 per hour to taxpayers.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention their special health care package.
DeleteI forgot to mention their special health care package.
DeleteSo how do we stop the skid in confidence? Do we let everyone in on the ruse that we can create as much "money" as we want to fund any program that suits us? This may allow certain of our, say, "unproductive" citizens to live the same lifestyle as our "productive"citizens. All of them have been living a fairly comfortable lifestyle because the government has been "investing" in our economy since the 1930's.
