America is not the greatest country in the world anymore.

This in a nutshell is why we belong to the Tea Party movement.

  2. Interesting William. The story life of Daniel's character is that he is a Republican and in the last show, he calls the Tea Party the American Taliban.

  3. Likely William, you wont' respond to this. From Daniel's tirade, "We are number one in incarcerated individuals, we have the highest number of adults who believe in angels, and we spend more on our military where we spend more then the next 26 countries combined, 25 of whom are allies."

He went on to talk about how we were an informed nation, informed by great men, and that we didn't scare and that we reached for the stars and did amazing things. Nowhere, in his speech, did he mention Reagan, the constitution, abortion, the debt or deficit, food stamps, the second amendment or any other favorite screaming point of the Tea Party. Reading your posts, there is a constant theme, greatness started with the founding fathers, nearly died, was revived briefly by Reagan, and has declined ever since.

What Daniel's character there is talking about is a fear based, punitive mentality that has taken hold of this nation. We will spare no amount of money investing in "rods" to beat the wicked of the world with, but we will not invest nary a dime in anything that can be portrayed as wealth redistribution. Most of all, because of our fear, we seemingly do nothing but bend over and encircle our piles of gold while we dart our eyes back and forth looking for that thief who is sure to come and steal our shit. The constitution did not make this country great, it simply provided a platform for visionary people to develop their ideas and bring them to fruition with the help of a solid work force who were allowed to participate in the prosperity.

To claim that tirade as something the Tea Party believes in is a farce. While the rank and file may support that, the wealthy benefactors of the Tea Party could care freaking less about the greatness of the country compared to the greatness of their bank accounts.

  4. Max, you still don't get it. We advocate limited government. Cuts across the board are required. Your cute reference to the Koch bros is noted. This is not about rich or poor people.

We know the RINO's in congress are still trying to hang onto their donation suppliers as are the DEM insider elite. We are fighting to debate the issues and diversify our congress. You help by participating and broadening the debate and I appreciate that.

A TV show is a TV show. What Daniel's character is pointing out is the long road downwards that we have traveled with our consolidated totalitarian leadership on both sides.

1773-2009 We can and shall do much better.

No, that is not what he is pointing out. He spoke nothing of totalitarian leadership and really said nothing about political parties at all. In fact, he did not make a single reference to the imagined totalitarian bullshit that the Tea Party endlessly wails about. If you watched the entire first season of that show, you would see that Daniel's character dumped on extremists of all type and the show actually highlighted how manipulated new shows of cable are by special interests.

Our demise is not the fault of the government, drowning it in a bathtub will change nothing with the exception of ensuring forever that only those with money and connections will have a voice.

    2. The clip Max was a three and a half minute segment. That is what was referenced, not some TV show. I could care less about the show.

Do you dispute what is shown in the clip? Do you deny that our union based educational system has lead to a lower placement worldwide?

Your use of the profanity doesn't impress me bigmouth. What does puzzle me is your satisfaction with remaining a prole. Just another brick in the wall.

    3. "Do you dispute what is shown in the clip? Do you deny that our union based educational system has lead to a lower placement worldwide?"

I do not dispute his stats. But again, he does not say anything that supports your next premise. The teachers unions have become an easy scapegoat for what is a much more complex problem. The unions negotiate for salary and some teaching conditions. The unions have nothing to do with the abusive parents, abusive children and complete intolerance for structure that many kids show up with today. I have said many times that I am not a huge fan of unions. I never liked working in a union shop and I have seen plenty of what is bad about them. Still, I reject the simple mind notion that they are the root of all evil. They are a part of the problem, but are far from being the entire problem.

I am as unimpressed with your labels as you are with my profanity. You mention you could care less about the show, yet, you have no problem pimping a tiny snippet that you believe makes your point for you. Like many William, you like to choose the path of least intellectual effort. You're happy to skip context, slap a silly label on something or lift large quotes of others words to let them talk for you. I've read much of the same stuff that you have and had, at one point in life, the same fervor for it that you do. And then I moved on when I realized that few people in the world wish to live up to the ethics of Rand's fictional characters in a fictional world.

Reality, William, is that everyone is a prole in someone's eyes. The government does not remotely restrict my life, and no success that I have had in life came from it either. I'm not a burden on anyone, except perhaps those who read my posts, and I do work that I both proud of and that I believe society desperately needs. If that's insignificant to you, I could care less. The funny thing William, is that you really have no idea what I believe. You seem to feel most comfortable deciding everyone is either completely friend or foe and you have put me in the latter category to avoid ever having to agree with me or concede a point.

I repeat, everyone is a prole who either answers to somebody or does their bidding.
