America has changed

It used to be the land of opportunity. Now it has become the land of guaranteed social welfare. With a little leg work, your housing, utilities, food will be ALL be provided for. What standard welfare doesn't pay for, government grants do pay for, and then there are charities. That's a step up for many illegals. Seriously, a friend of mine who went on a mission in rural Mexico told me that the village's pride and joy was the electric corn mill, it saved hours everyday of women having to grind their corn by hand. I think they are getting a washing machine donated to them too. But remember that shoeless, homeless guy in New York? Turns out he had housing, utilities, food ALL 100% paid for by various programs and groups.

  1. I love America. Why not focus on what's right rather than what's wrong? Whine whine whine.

    2. Fixing what is wrong is low hanging fruit. Duplication, fraud, easy compared to making the hard decisions.

  2. Because we are going in the wrong direction.

Nothing needs to be changed about what's right.

  3. Mick......I love America also but you can not bury you head in the sand about our problems.
What should be a "safety net" has become a way of life for many.
The "Free Stuff" is being abused.

The work ethic in this country is being destroyed.

    1. Rojay, if the safety net is abolished and the free stuff is halted, will your life be any better? People who don't work generally live miserable lives. If that's what they choose, why should that bother me?

    2. if the safety net is abolished and the free stuff is halted
No one suggests halting the safety net as it is needed. What is not needed is 47 million Americans on food stamps, 70 million on medicaid. What isn't needed is the pork that pervades every bill passed by congress as recently demonstrated so well by the Sandy Aid bill. A needed bill loaded with fat.

No one suggests halting the safety net as it is needed"

Using abolishing the safety net is an excuse for not facing the real issues of fixing the abuse in the system. A Liberal trait for sure.
