Rand Paul Places Blame

In a Morning Joe interview Wednesday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) blamed Republican hawks like Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) for ISIS' rise and growth.

"ISIS exists and grew stronger because of the hawks in our party who gave arms indiscriminately, and most of those arms were snatched up by ISIS," Paul told host Joe Scarborough. "These hawks also wanted to bomb Assad, which would have made ISIS' job even easier. They've created these people."

  1. With honesty like that, Paul will never win a Pub primary.

  2. Nope he won't but it does make one respect him.

  3. Apparently Rand doesn't know the history of ISIS nor do you.

But then again it doesn't fit your narrative so guess it doesn't matter to uninformed Americans.

p.s. Doesn't help when the Iraqi's their down their weapons and run does it.
Paul will not make it nor will Sanders, both fringe candidates appealing to few.

    1. Interestingly, both say things that I agree with from time to time. Without us going to Iraq, there would be no ISIS. The Democrats horribly supported it and are nearly as much to blame. Still, a very small, very Hawkish group from within the Republican establishment put their thumb on the scale to tip us into that war. Whether Republican or not, Paul has a point about the war hawks within our country who believe the solution to everything is to take military action and just kill everyone we deem a "threat" to America. Obama has been no slouch with Hawk mentality.

    2. The group was founded in 1999 by Jordanian radical Abu Musab al-Zarqawi as Jamāʻat al-Tawḥīd wa-al-Jihād, "The Organisation of Monotheism and Jihad"

    3. Fair enough Lou, but give me your honest opinion, would they be the organization they are today if Saddam still controlled Iraq?

    4. No they likely would not, much like Libya and Egypt would not have the problems they have today without our stellar decision to intervene.

    5. You know louman the al-Zargawi group was a nominal FRINGE group holed up in the northern mountains near the Iranian border when Saddam was in power and he kept his thumb on them as he did so many others. So yes our hawkish attitude did create the monster that ISIS has become. We built Saddam because by god Iran wasn't going to win that fucking war in the 80's. We Built Osama Bin Laden and al Qeada because by god Russia wasn't going to win that fucking war in Afghanistan. We have no one to blame today but ourselves for the power of these terrorist groups most of the aid provided by the republican administration of your boy Ronald Reagan. You know we hate Iran as a country but they seem to be the most civilized people in the middle east. Except for supporting the terrorists set against Israel what else have the Iranians ever done since the whole embassy thing? And my friend when all is said and done with ISIS it will be the Iranians not us that make the difference. We need to learn that we are not wanted or welcome in that part of the world.
