End of an Era, Fox cancels American Idol

Sorry, American Idol, but this time, you are not moving on to Hollywood.

After 14 long seasons (remember when Paula Abdul was a judge?), Fox is pulling the plug on the show that brought us Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, and Jennifer Hudson.

American Idol's 15th season, which is slated to start January 2016, will be its last.

The current crop of judges — Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr., and Keith Urban — are reportedly returning for the final run, which won't be so much a singing contest as a celebration of its past 14 singing contests (think: even more montages and a return of the "dawg").

  2. This is much ado about nothing, but for a long time, Simon frequently displaced Kenny G at the top of my list of people who seemed deserving of a really good ass kicking.

A great first step in removing trash programming. I look forward to getting rid of the rest of the garbage.

    1. It's really a difficult call.
American Idol, Dancing with the Stars or Survivor.

Kids today have so many opportunities.
