"So you think that money is the root of all evil?
"So you think that money is the root of all evil? Have you ever asked
what is the root of money? Money is a tool of exchange, which can't
exist unless there are goods produced and men able to produce them.
Money is the material shape of the principle that men who wish to deal
with one another must deal by trade and give value for value. Money is
not the tool of the moochers, who claim your product by tears or of the
looters, who take it from you by force. Money is made possible only by
the men who produce. Is this what you consider evil?" - Francisco

Money is worth nothing except as you state a means of exchange. Many rich people are wealthy on paper. They produce nothing but more paper wealth. Almost all money world wide is fiat money. It is a dollar because we say it is. It has no value except the paper and ink it takes to produce it. Although money is not the root of all evil it is the root of a great deal of it. Rich or poor people desire money and will do almost anything to attain it. Let's look at Bill Gates for example. Although he did nothing criminally wrong he took a great portion of someone else's idea and became a billionaire, not criminally wrong because it was not yet patented but morally that's a dilemma to me. The great robber barons of the past, they obtained their wealth through dubious means at times by price fixing, favoritism, buying favorable regulation through politicians and monopoly. Morally I am better then that are you William?
ReplyDeleteI think romantic comedies are the root of all evil ...
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteThe correct saying is "The love of money is the root of all evil." I would add television reality shows to romantic comedies Pjunky.
DeleteYou three should get a room.
DeleteThe root of money is supply.
