Firepower Comparison

This Map Shows How All 50 States Rank on Gun Ownership – If They Were Nations Around the World

Thanks to a pretty nifty map recently created by Movoto, we’re able to see which foreign nation each state in the U.S. matches up with when it comes to the number of gun owners in each one.
State to Country Firepower

The results concluded that some of America’s most populated and powerful states matched up with the world’s superpowers, when it comes to gun ideology:
  • California’s total of 33.08 million guns is closest to China’s 40 million
  • Texas’ total of 22.33 million guns is closest to Germany’s 25 million
  • New York’s total of 17.2 million guns is closest to Pakistan’s 18 million
The countries that appeared on the map the most consisted of:
  • South Africa: 6
  • Spain: 5
  • Uzbekistan: 3
  • Turkey: 3
Here is a list showing the comparison of state-to-country gun ownership:

  1. I was surprised to see how many guns liberal States like Wisconsin, Vermont, and Hawaii had.

The liberal State of California has as many guns as the entire Country of China.

I don't think guns are going away any time soon.

  2. And just one gun and one shell takes the life of one American citizen every few hours. Are you not collectively ashamed?

    1. We are not a collective, we are a republic.

    2. King shortly after the Newtown Connecticut massacre of 20 innocent 6 year olds, the country and the president was poised to do changing of our gun laws. The initial legislation was written bi partisan by democrat Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Pennsylvania republican Pat Toomey. The senate failed to pass the legislation. (54-46, 60 votes needed to pass) The republican House never brought it to a vote. 80-90 % of Americans polled found the legislation to be reasonable

So it goes in American politics. The NRA has money and if you vote for stricter regulations they crush you with negative advertising. Just one more way that our government is bought so therefore locked into senseless laws.

  4. Difficult to argue with you there rick. In Williams Republic it appears you can buy the government if you know the difference between a collective and a Republic. What about if you think of yourselves as a Democratic Republic? even more interesting, what about if you do not know the difference between collectively and a collective? now there is a situation fraught with danger! By the way, I am getting two for the price of one with my posts. They are all appearing twice even thought I press “Publish” but once.Any suggestions

    1. It's a moot point king. Government here cannot grant rights, only God can. Government's role is to protect our rights as sovereigns.

    2. And God said "let there be a right to guns" and William got one. yeah right.

    3. The Bill of Rights are inalienable Rights. Then again progressives don't worry themselves over the Declaration and Constitution.

Humans have a basic inalienable Right to protect themselves. Without this Right what good are any other Rights?

    4. so learn ultimate fighting. then you can protect yourself. William as I always state I am not against the right to bear arms, and I too am a gun owner. But the right has been blown out of proportion. No one man has to be armed like a small government and even you know that is true. The right was granted for 3 reasons... #1 protection yes protection the country was still full of not civilized or friendly Indians at the time. Get off the coast and it was still a hostile wilderness. 2. Food. People had to have guns to hunt to be able to eat. We did not have the means at the time to feed everyone in the country economically. 3 it was the logical and cheapest way to have an army to protect the country, in lieu of a paid standing army. Militias could be called up quickly, they provided most of their own gear, the government only had to provide gunpowder to wage war. This whole shit about protection from the government is just that. Shit. The militias have never been used by the states/people against the government, but the government has used the militias against the states/people.

    5. So here we are.

You cannot make guns illegal as there are so many. Really want to raid every residence in the US and confiscate their fire arms?

Perhaps you should make ammunition illegal which would make guns either a paper weight or a collectors item.

But then again with an open southern border, ammunition would be the item to smuggle instead of drugs.
