A secure border

"A sovereign country should never apologize for having a secure border anymore than this Congress apologizes for having metal detectors at every single entrance point.”

  1. Wow how profound. This should rank right up there with Patrick Henry's "give me liberty or give me death". Give it time.

A sovereign country shouldn't have to have metal detectors to protect it's congress.
Now William you say it's because our border is unprotected but the last people who really did harm to our country didn't come in through an unsecure border did they William. No they did not . They entered through the legal means developed over time Visas and Student waivers that let them study the very skills they needed to do the terror they were about to commit. All the fences in the world would't have kept them out.

  2. I find it amusing that Congress refuses to consider firearms legislation like banning the sale of assault weapons and implementing better background checks and yet insists on having up to date firearm detection for themselves. Isn't that rather cowardly? Come on Congressmen, put your life where your mouth is.

    1. Assault weapons (fully automatic) are for the most part already banned. Finding and purchasing an "assault weapon will set you back about 15k plus a $200 tax stamp from the ATF. Never mind that the background check takes almost a year with just about everything but a full cavity search.

    2. And kits to easily convert an AR or some other variant to full auto can't be bought cheaply?

    3. Not at all Max. I got an AR lower for Christmas and am in the process of building it right now. To convert it requires further machining to fit the auto sear into the lower. While you can buy the auto sears they are only intended to be installed into class 3 registered firearms manufactured prior to 1986. Machining a new AR lower and installing an auto sear is a FELONY. Finding an M-16 lower made prior to 1986 will easily set you back 10k again only with an exhaustive (1 year on average) background check and a $200 tax stamp from the ATF.
