Meteorologists: Sorry about getting that blizzard thing wrong
Meteorologists across the Northeast were scrambling to get back in good graces with the public on Tuesday — apologizing on Twitter for forecasting the “historic blizzard” that never was.“My deepest apologies to many key decision makers and so many members of the general public,” tweeted National Weather Service meteorologist Gary Szatkowski. “This is a big forecast miss.”
Mayor Thanks Sharpton for Climate Change Work, During Blizzard Report
Bridgeport, CT Mayor Bill Finch (D) thanked MSNBC anchor Al Sharpton for “fighting the good fight on climate change” during a report on Winter Storm Juno on Monday’s “PoliticsNation.”After urging residents to stay off the roads and reporting that emergency workers were ensuring that the elderly and homeless population were taking care of, Finch told Sharpton “thank you for your show, Reverend, you’ve been fighting the good fight on climate change, and we can see the crazy climate here, and we’d like to have a little bit more of you down in Washington.”
Local notes:
Last night at about 11PM a young "meteorologist" in a magnificent suit on our Public Broadcasting System talked about the massive storm and flooding that would impact our area. Predictions were 15"-18," we ended up with 2"-3" and the sun is coming out at 11AM. He mentioned areas being impacted by major flooding due to "Global Rising Sea Levels." It was apparent that he was well schooled in "Earth Health matters" with little of no experience about the fickle nature of Atlantic Nor' Easters. Weather is weather. It snows in these parts in January. Get over it.
I agree William. Too much hype for any storm no matter the reason given. We are growing soft. The pussification of America.
