William you have scored a bulls eye with this post. I would go further and teach them to not only read and write but to comprehend the constitution within the context of your history. A great nation spawned in anger and nursed into being by perhaps the most accomplished group since the end of the Roman empire. Let your kids understand the constitution, let them debate and reason as to its meaning and intent. Let them also study the development of the nation with all its faults and failings. Only then will the citizens of tomorrow take action to remedy the faults of today. No William they will not listen to you or to me, this tin can idea will quite properly wither on the vine. My concern is that which I have written will follow it into oblivion and the kids will grow into clones of their parents who are ruining the world of today. And yes William, we have problems here, we have different details but the problems are just as manifest as in the US. Our problems are in the making of history, we are still finding the way, you at least have two centuries head start on us surely with all that experience your nation is big enough to acknowledge and rectify the problem.
