  2. Some of you will remember the Dachshund I took in last May. She was starving, had skin problems, mange, and was a total mess. Well we had to put her down yesterday as she had advanced AIHA and would have needed a blood transfusion for a 50/50 chance. It is heartbreaking as that little dog wormed her way into our hearts..... We had 1 year and 2 months with her and what a personality she had. As my mother would say , "love is never wasted" .... even if it was for a short time...

After stating the above Russ gave me this link to "A Dogs Prayer" ... Thanks Russ.

It really made me think of all the animals that have touched my life throughout the years. I am grateful for all of them - too many to name or count. Love is a gift that is packaged in many ways..

    1. Sincere condolences on the loss of a member of your family and good on you for having made the effort to love and care for an animal that had a lot of needs.

    2. Whenever true love is seen it is most often in the eyes of the pets we love, sorry for your loss. I have six rescued cats and a cocker we got to cheer my wife up a bit after her mom passed away in December
