Yeah, let's just go to a system where we each decide for ourselves what is fair to pay and then send a check for half of that amount. Let's all eat cake and lose weight too.
Under Great Leader Reagan, we played this game. we lowered taxes, simplified things and took away deductions. Then the rates stayed and the deductions came back and the deficit spending soared. No worries though. Let's go to a flat tax, let the wealthy pay no taxes at all on investment income while taxing every dime the working class earns. You think the gap income is big now, wait until there is no progressive system and watch where the wealth of the country goes.

The entire tax code should be contained on one sheet of paper just like our Declaration of Independance.
