Obama, fresh off a round of golf, watched the Syracuse-Marquette game at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.…

The president didn’t pick either team to make it this far in the tournament. In his East Region bracket, Obama picked Indiana and Miami, both of whom were ousted from the tournament on Thursday.
Obama, an avid college basketball fan, who shares his picks every year on ESPN, admitted earlier this week that early-round upsets in the tournament had left his bracket “busted.”

Vice President Joe Biden also caught some hoops last week, watching the Delaware Lady Blue Hens win in the Sweet 16 round of the women’s tournament in Newark, N.J., according to reports.

Twinsdads thoughts..
What did this cost the the taxpayers?  30 grand, 40, 50?

Name the last US President that attended  such a game, or any other event such as this.

Prima Donna's spending taxpayers dollars for the circus.   Remind anyone of Rome, just before it fell?

  1. The West has initiated an arms embargo against the Syrian rebels fighting Bashar Assad since discovering that some of the weapons are being resold to al Qaeda for its conquest of southern Syrian and takeover of positions on the Jordanian and Israel borders and Yarmuk River. This policy reversal was disclosed by French President Francois Hollande Friday, March 29. DEBKAfile: Alarm over the Nusra Front’s territorial gains now tops concerns over chemical warfare in the deliberations of the joint US-Israeli, US-Jordanian and US-Turkish command centers.

    DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Everyone told him that's what would happen and he did it anyway. Oblivious? Incompetent? or was it intentional?

    1. BUT basketball is so important.....

This is ridiculous there is so much that MUST be addressed..

    2. I wonder if some of that had been happening with arms to the Libyans, which our Dear Leader chose to push for seemingly out of the blue. Might have been one more reason for the blam-it-on-video stance, yes?

    3. Can you imagine the value of the bracket pool Obama is in, it must be worth thousands!!!! Maybe a million!

  2. Hasn't almost every president since Grover Cleveland thrown out the opening pitch at the start of the baseball season? I guess the President should stay secluded in the White House to save money on his Secret Service protection. Angie, I thought we wanted less government not more, I know I do. There has been too much "addressing" so far.

    1. Addressed as in doing his job... size has nothing to do with the duty and responsibility of a president...

    2. It would be nice if he would pull his head out and allow tours of the White House where he is a temporary resident.

O can afford a golf outing in Florida with Tiger while the wifey skis in Colorado and now the kids are on summer break in Bermuda. The gold outing was 4 million. Tours covered for the year and he would look like a stellar fellow. Instead he looks like a spoiled brat who pouts if he can't get his way.

      Pathetic.

Just a touch of irony seeing a comment like this on a thread like this. Sigh, at least when the next Republican gets elected we might see more articles posted that actually have some substance. Til then, just more yelling at any car that drives by.

    4. I am sick of the babies in Washington. Doesn't matter if it's Boehner throwing a fit or do nothing Reid or Obama. Obama closing the White House is the perfect example of what wrong in Washington. If I don't get my way, I'll make it hurt.

      Pathetic one and all.

Sorry but the next Prez will be Hillary, she's sitting back letting things cool off but we will see her hit the campaign trail in a year after Benghazi has cooled off and the 30 sec attention span of the voters has elapsed.

    5. Not just any car Max, the million dollar, or whatever it cost, plus the flying it around, for the family too... How much could the presidents family donate to charities if they all laid off any trip, any this, any that for one week, including that Biden fool, don't you think the Obama family could pony up a couple million... Just by cutting all the crap and stayed home for seven straight days.

Just make them eat the White House menu for seven days and go nowhere, I would guess they could save we the people several million, what's your guess?

    6. Max, 90% or more voters support background checks for firearm purchasers. 90% or more Republican congressmen oppose it. One more tragic incident where little children are gunned down and the Republicans will be effectively extinct. Anyway, it will save the NRA a lot of money in bribes, oops, I meant contributions.

    7. Yes, lets ban all guns. It will help the criminals and be safer for them.

    8. It costs so much money because there are scores of nut jobs out there that want to kill the President or his family. At this point in an opposition Presidents administration, the foaming at the mouth rabid crowd will erupt with outrage at anything. Sorry TD, this is a bullshit thing to be outraged at. There were plenty of left of center knuckledraggers erupting everyday by the end of Bush's term and suggesting that Obama should just never leave the white house for anything fits that category. Conceptually TD, I get it. Obama is spending YOUR money; you're eating tomato soup while uppity boy goes to a basketball game. Personally, as much as I rolled my eyes at Bush's stupid "goober" moments with real people, I'd rather see my president spend some time outside of the white house.

    9. I agree, I would prefer he spend time outside of the WH however with the people, not just his supporters. He's due in Denver on Wed. when I called to get a ticket, it's by invitation only. Still the president of the Democratic party, the hell with the rest of the country.

    1. Lighten up Twins, everyone knows basketball is important. Or why would Kim Jong Un have had Dennis Rodman in town?

    2. Wonder if Dennis got him hooked up with a bracket pool? He's got plenty of bucks, after all his people are starving, he must have put in thousands!

    3. A little research would show you how rediculous your statement is.

    4. You imply Kim has no cash to invest in a gamble? I think otherwise, the party elite live well. Just like here.......

    5. Dennis and Kim got hooked up in a bridal suite. Only this time Kim was wearing the dress.
