What's Wrong With This Picture?

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Rep. Michael Grimm will plead guilty on Tuesday to a felony count of tax evasion, according to a report in the New York Daily News. Grimm, a New York Republican, will enter the plea in a federal court in Brooklyn, the report said. In April, Grimm was charged in a 20-count indictment with hiding more than $1 million in sales and wages at a Manhattan restaurant he co-owned before entering Congress. Grimm won re-election in November and is expected to argue he can keep serving in the House of Representatives despite his expected guilty plea, the report said.

  1. There's nothing wrong. It speaks to the fact that Democrats are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad that anything is more acceptable.

At least I imagine a few empty heads out there think that way.

  3. I think it has more to do with the whole "stupid voter" thing than partisan politics.

Tax evasion, fraud, corruption - those crimes are complicated and require a critical/higher level thinking to fully comprehend. Any crime involving theft more convoluted than knocking off a bank is difficult for us voting dumbasses to wrap our pointy little heads around. Plus it's undramatic, wonky, and boring. Where's the sizzle? Where's the sex?

If you tweet a pic of your speedo-clad bulge to a cocktail waitress across the country, however, you can never run for public office again. You will be publicly eviscerated and shunned in the media.

See, us morons get that. It's titillating - it's dramatic, and most importantly, it involves sex (though virtual, not actual).

Who cares if this politician committed massive fraud and tax evasion? Who's gonna read/watch a story about that? Even though it's serious, it's also boring and tough to follow. The mouth breathers just aren't gonna care.

This guy, however, tweeted someone a dickpic!!! And he's married!!! Oh, the horrors!!! Well the carny-folk voting block understands this, and it (almost) involves sex!!! This story gets the A Block on every newscast across the country. I swear we're a nation of giggly, immature teenagers. It just ain't a "scandal" unless it somehow involves sex.

Wiener, a popular congressman, can't even go out in public anymore let alone run for office cuz he tweeted a racy pic to a young woman halfway across the country - he never even touched her, but Grimm, accused of 20 counts of fraud totaling $1M+, has a fair-to-middling shot of keeping his job. AND he won re-election while the indictment came down!

Pass the Cheetos, that Yoo-hoo, and the remote, please ...

    1. Not to mention Rev Al Sharpton who owes 4.5M in back taxes, incites riots, and yet visits the White House almost on a weekly basis.

"What do we want,, Dead Cops,,,
When do we want them,,, Now!!!"

Pfunky our president, AG Holder, and acknowledged communist mayor of NYC De Blasio have ripped the scab off.

  4. Funky,

Very well put. Flash a dick pic, you're done. Commit high brow crime, most people can't understand it. William's response here is a classic presentation of what you are talking about. He can undoubtedly post a shitload of links from his masters that highlight the fact Sharpton owes back taxes. What is laughable, of course, is that William is a full blown tea bagger who belongs to a group that collectively never ceases to bitch about taxation. Does he really care that Sharpton owes taxes? Of course not, not as long as he can do his part to use that intro to tell us all that Sharpton is openly advocating for people to murder police officers. The claim, of course, is complete bullshit. But, rather than be upset at the possibly REAL transgression of the law, he is instead whipped into a frenzy at the fact that Sharpton is leading LEGAL protests. It's amazing to me that people are able to kid themselves to believe that something they are fervent about (overtaxation) is less important than screaming about a false accusation.

Sharpton was quoted as saying to an audience at Kean College in 1994 that, "White folks was in caves while we was building empires.... We taught philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it."

"If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house".

In 2005, Sharpton appeared in three television commercials for LoanMax, an automobile title loan company. He was criticized for his appearance because LoanMax reportedly charges fees which are the equivalent of 300% APR loans.

Go ahead max. Join Obama in your support for this race baiting cocksucker.

    3. Ah, and here's a link to the asshole Fox news station that edited a chant to make it sound like someone was saying, "let's kill a cop"

Yeah, Sharpton is such a race baiting cocksucker

  5. William, Grimm is pleading guilty to a crime yet he expects to continue holding office. That is the outrage. This has nothing to do with Sharpton or anyone else, one crime does not justify another.

    1. I never said I support Grimm. He should be gone. I was responding to phunky lauding reprobate Anthony Weiner.

Grimm is a bit player. Charlie Rangel was a bit player. Marion Barry was a bit player. Race baiter Sharpton is costing good people their lives. Obama is still silent concerning those two NYC cops who were shot in the back of their heads. Sharpton will be the first one through the White House door once Obama returns from his golf trip.

    2. I am glad we agree that Grimm should go.

    3. You still don't get it William. Funky was not, IMO, lauding Weiner and I definitely was not lauding Sharpton. It's curious to me that while you continue to bang your drum that Sharpton caused the death of those cops, you can't seem to bring yourself to comment on the thread I started.

In case you haven't noticed, plenty of white people have also showed up these rallies. What about all the medical students and residents who all joined the protests as well. What you want, in a very Saul Alinski like way, is to identify all protesting with Al Sharpton in order to singularly dismiss the entire thing as just another chapter in the black shakedown of America.

You can keep blaming Sharpton all you want William and convince yourself everything would be just fine if that asshole went away, but it's fantasy. People like the ones at Fox news who falsely edited that video are fare more dangerous than Sharpton is.

    4. So now it's a Fox affiliate in Baltimore whose fault it was that those cops were executed.

I realize that the two of you were conversing in your progressive adolescent S N L based code. Cute little high school sexual references. Fact is Weiner is a dick, Grimm is a dick, Rangel was a long term dick, lot's of politicians are dicks. Happy now that I lowered myself to your level?

Sharpton has cost many many lives in the black, white, and Jewish neighborhoods. He is the worst of the worst, a real fucking cocksucker.

Now I will withdraw from my Jersey guy persona. My apologies to the other bloggers.
