Melissa Harris-Perry says your children don't belong to you and this board is silent?!?!?!?!?

Everyone from Rush to Sarah to Glenn to Sean are in on this. How can America stay pure if you so called conservatives can't be bothered to forward the message?

    2. Didn't you hear that the Pentagon is labeling parents as domestic terrorists.

    3. Actually.............they are.

If you are a t-partier, an evangelical, a libertarian, or a Conservative, the DHS has labeled us as potential terror threats. By default, since I am a parent as well as a few of the above, I am a potential terrorist as labeled by Bis Sis.

Almost forgot..............I also support the 2nd amendment and own firearms that are hated by the socialist/commies so that earns me an additional check on the undisreable list.

    4. If one is a "conservative" as in the tradtional description I think that they no longer exist. The MSM has turned this country into a population of empty headed disrespectful assholes that only care about getting media gratification and any input from any conservative source is rendered moot overnight. Being a conservative myself I have had to watch a president impeached, which spawned the birth of the liberal MSM, I have had to watch a President openly cheat on his wife, numerous times, and I have had to witness the sad moments of a President that declared war with the full support of both houses of congress, and then as the MSM turned left, he was condemned and the backlash put a rookie Senator in the White House and now no country and no other country views the United States as a respectable well governed country.

Never put a rookie on the mound to save the big game......

    5. pfunky,

Well, it is from a new show on (MS)NBC, apparently, so take it from there. I didn't hear it, only heard of it, and the first reaction was the stupidity of the notion, you know, It Takes A village ? I read Perry's response,

      http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/13/melissa-harris-perry-promo-children-msnbc_n_3076195.html

and it rather struck me as a soft way to continue the march to socialisma nd everything belongs to everybody.

    7. @Jean

Maybe she did mean it as the continuing battle coo toward socialism, I couldn't say.

Or maybe she knew that folks on the right would overreact with phony outrage so she could make a name for herself & people like me would actually hear of her? Free Pub?

I don't really care what pundits say. If I don't like it or it offends me, I change the channel. I'm a grown up - I scowl and I move on.

But over the 15-20 years - basically since the internet boom - a growth industry of "media watchdogs" has emerged, both on the left and on the right, whose sole purpose seems to gin up phony outrage amongst the political opposites of the "offending" party.

Chances are pretty good that the eight people who were actually watching Melissa Harris-Perry-Ex-Pee-Ah-Lah-Docious at the time she mentioned "collective parenting" probably agreed with her.

Do you think folks like William Martin, Twinsdad, Angie, and gottaloveit made up half of those people in her audience?

No? Well how did they find out? I'll tell you how.

It's some mook's job to watch MSNBC and latch on to some soundbyte that some Liberal said that they know will send the Right into a frenzy, and pass it on to the Conservatives blogs for the purpose of whipping the Righties up into exaggerated outrage (the irony that Max posted it on this blog has not escaped me ... LOL).

And there's the same guy working for the Left watching FOX doing the same thing. And also monitoring Limbaugh, Maher, Hannity, Maddow, etc ...

I mean really, agree with her or not, who gives a fuck what Melissa Harris-Perry-Ex-Pee-Ah-Lah-Docious says? Especially those right of center?

You know who's gonna benefit most from this phony outrage? Melissa Harris-Perry-Ex-Pee-Ah-Lah-Docious, that's who. We now know who she is and we're talking about her. Chew on that for awhile, O Warriors Against Socialism.

Here's a thought - If you don't like who's on, change the channel. Ignore her. Put on some tunes.

Let's can the irrational outrage. Whaddya say, folks?

    10. pfunky,

I'm sorry for the late response, but I share your sentiments. Especially the part where people from one side of the political fence partake in that spectator sport of trolling for something stupid someone on the other side said, and then proffering it up as representative of that side, yes? Seems to be more interesting that actually discussing opposing views, and often leads to childish or rude, non-productive exchanges.

    1. William,

But even closer to the theme suggested by "It Takes a Village". No, never read the book. Authored a long time a go, and it was by the former FLOTUS, besides, yes?
