Shooting his mouth off is not hitting the target for Mitt Romney

I ALMOST feel sorry for Mitt Romney---------he keeps being honest about his real feelings toward the rest of mankind ( and womankind).  He has utter contempt and derision for those who are not in the 1%, which by the way, he wants to vote for him. He even lamented he was not a Latino, which was a derisive and racial comment.  Who has he NOT offended?

I mean, what's a working class, out of work, down and out, barely surviving Republican supposed to do?  Vote for Romney?  Vote for Obama , whom they cannot stand, but owe their survival ( albeit temporary)
to?

Who is left to vote for him but the 1%????? See, that's the problem------there ain't enough of 'em.  It takes the 99% that he has dissed time and time again.  Are they really as dumb as he thinks they are?

Obama will be re-elected----------

While there are a lot of people who are upset with the President, he will be re-elected.  He is more mature, he is more experienced, he has some positive programs in place ( student loan rates, ACA, The Dream Act, troop reductions, veteran's benefits,) and there are many who will benefit.  If Romney and Ryan are elected the people of the country will see a huge reduction in services in every profession, and on all levels of local, state and federal government.

The voters and non-voters in this country, regardless of party affiliation,  have benefited greatly from the mortgage rescue to keep bank from foreclosing on homes.

Real jobs HAVE been created, admittedly slowly and not to the extent desired, but , nevertheless jobs have been created, jobs brought back to the USA.

Homes have been saved due to legislation--- to allow mortgage refi's------- iniated by the President.

A woman's right to choose has been protected------ and Planned Parenthood has survived to provide care to those who are in a quandry over critical reproductive decisions.

The strides made by the Obama administration have been applicable to a huge segment of the population and if they are not eliminated by the Republican voter ID requirements, they will vote Obama back in to finish building a future we can live secure, productive and healthy lives.

Unlike the previous administration's 2 wars of choice and irresponsible tax cuts, this President has proposed ways to pay for the programs he led through and to make taxes more equitable.  President Obama recognizes that unless the middle class is made whole again, there can be no consumer driven spending recovery for this country.  He has built a solid base upon which to launch the secure future of our economy FORWARD.

Sequestration--------what is it anyway? You better know.

Sequestration: What You Need to Know On August 2, 2011, President Obama signed into law the Budget Control Act of 2011 (BCA), increasing our nation’s debt limit and imposing a series of measures to limit spending and decrease the nation’s debt.
The BCA calls for $900 million in cuts to discretionary programs, including education, over the next decade. It also created a Joint Select Committee (referred to as the "Supercommittee") made up of members from the House and Senate, Democrats and Republicans charged with finding $1.2 trillion more in cuts over the next decade. If the Supercommittee failed to identify this savings, or Congress failed to approve the Supercommittee’s recommendation, automatic cuts would impact every federal program not specifically excluded on January 1, 2013.

Programs Excluded from BCA’s Across the Board Cuts (Sequestration):
Social Security, Medicaid, CHIP, Food Stamps, Child Nutrition, Veterans Benefits, certain tax credits, Federal retirement benefits, and Medicare up to a capped amount.
The Supercommittee failed, and now sequestration will begin, unless Congress and the Administration change the law. At the time of publication, several members of the House of Representatives have proposed a bill that would prohibit sequestration from impacting Department of Defense programs, but there has not been any similar legislation proposed to address education.
The Congressional Budget Office, the nonpartisan office that advises Congress on the implications of its proposals has estimated that sequestration will mean a cut of approximately 8% to all education programs. This means that the entire U.S. Department of Education’s budget will be reduced by approximately $3.5 billion.
Expected Cuts Starting January 1, 2013:
IDEA Part B Grants to States CUT by $903 Million
IDEA Part B Section 619 Program CUT by $29 Million
IDEA Part C Infants & Toddlers CUT by $35 Million
IDEA Part D National Programs CUT by $19 Million
Special Education Research CUT by $4 Million
These cuts will be felt by every single school in the nation and will impact educators’ abilities to serve children and youth with disabilities appropriately. Furthermore, they come at a time when other cuts have made it impossible to not reduce essential services. CEC calls on Congress to consider the potential impact of this across-the- board cut on children and youth, families, professionals and communities before allowing these cuts to deny resources and supports to those who need them most. Avoid a sequester by passing a balanced deficit reduction measure.

Romney will NOT raise taxes on the MIDDLE CLASS by not taxing interest, dividends and capital gains-----HUH?

The middle class , for the most part, no longer gets interest, dividends and capital gains. Many people in the middle class, if they have any cash are getting 1% interest.  Most in the middle class, including myself, no longer have dividend income because we no longer have dividend producing funds------everything is going into living and trying to stay alive. The 1%ers are the ones who get dividend income.

Every time food, gas and medical costs go up, and income stays the same, the money has to come from SOMEWHERE--------for us it has eaten up our savings.  The only money we spend is on necessities like food, gas, the mortgage and household bills, not to mention medical care.

Now to capital gains------------on what Mr. Romney?  Interest, dividends and capital gains are 1% issues-----NOT middle class issues.

OMG---------this man is so out of touch with the people in this country.  Who IS this man?

Romney said to David Gregory on MTP this am, "I am not concerned for myself, I am fine, I am worried about Americans."  Poor ole Romney, does not get even the basics.

Oh really???????  Snake oil politics, slick and slimy, making economic medicinal claims without any economic medicinal cures--------Republican snake oil salesman = Romney & Ryan.

Ask bin Laden if he is better off than he was 4 years ago--------

There have been some very memorable lines from the DNC.  The RNC has just one, tired old mantra-------"Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?"  Over and over and over and over-----ad nauseum.  At least the Dems have a new applications of that hackneyed old phrase.

I am anxious to see the poll results after the convention to guage whether or not there was a bump up in the numbers for O.

As Clinton pointed out about the RNC------"I didn't know whether to laugh or cry."  Me either Mr. Clinton, me either.

"Are you better off than you were 4 years ago? Quoted from a DEAD man in 1980--------OH PLEASE!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, quoted from 1980, or was that 1890?  Good God Almighty---------don't the Republicans have ANYTHING new to address our dire economic situation?????

Some of us are better off, some of us are less well off, but all-in-all the COUNTRY is better off.  We are turning the Titanic just ahead of hitting the iceberg----------we all pray that the country survives and thrives once again------------don't we?

We got where we are thanks to the GOP-------we have begun a fledgling recovery-----------the GOP , I suppose would prefer an abortion to a full-term recovery-----just to get rid of the POTUS.

Spare me the indignation and PLEASE give us the Republican plan---------------PLEASE!

I hear tell---------Independents will swing the election

I think the Dems will run away with the election, but hey, the independents COULD make a big difference.  I also hear tell there are a LOT of indys just waiting for a sign of SOMETHING to believe in.

Despite all the media hype about monolithic voting blocks comprised of women, Asians, Latinos, Blacks, Gays, Trolls and The Three Billy Goat's Gruff--------------each vote is individual and every vote counts.  I believe in the collective wisdom to prevail, but I AM challenged, in my belief, with the election of W by the Supreme Court.

Voters out here in the real world are NOT looking for a freak show----------we are looking for a leader.

I'm waiting for the DEMOCRATIC convention this week------

It can't be any worse than the Republican Convention ----------------- but will it be any better?  Will there be as many outright lies, as much disrespect, and "whiteness"?  Will there be as much exclusion from the convention as conventions of old---------like the 50's?

A Republican strategist said on CNN, "The Republican Party has a big tent, we welcome everyone."  Oh really?

If you are gay, if you are of color, if you are female, if you are poor, if you believe in a woman's right to choose ------ your VOTE  is welcome but the TENT is closed.
