Happy Holidays

everyone, Merry Christmas and a hope for a most fruitful and happy new year. At times we spew venom at each other  but we are all bound together by being lucky enough to be citizens of what is still the greatest country ever known to mankind. A country that allows us to come online and discuss the issues with no threat of repercussions from our government. Most of the world isn't so lucky. Have a wonderful time with your friends and families.

  1. Thanks Rick,

Happy Holidays to everyone as well. The yearly cease fire on market watch was usually something I enjoyed and while I genuinely hope all here do well in the coming year, I also have to admit I'm a bit troubled at the sharp divisions we have and how much anger there is. I tend to return the anger when I get hooked into it, which doesn't help anything, but when I walk away from this keyboard, I seldom give much thought to it. I try to be informed, I vote and I try to do things useful to humanity. Beyond that, I kind of hope for the best that the country will continue to hold together and find balance over the long haul.

Contrary to the tone of specific posts, I really don't hate anyone here and hope that everyone does well. Giving a trophy to everyone is, after all, a liberal dogma.

    1. Merry Christmas Mike, sticks and stones can break your bones but words can never hurt you.... Despite, what five years of this blog, both the original and this lame excuse for its "second life" I still feel that we are not really that far apart. We both want success for our economy, we both believe in the right for anyone to marry anyone else, I think we are not that far apart on many issues. You know someday, when the family here is a bit better off, we gave up a lot to come to Arizona, but Lynn's mom got two more years of life by entering the Banner cancer centers, in Ca. They just told her to take a cruise, you have less than a year to live. I have still been unable to find a job, forcing my wife to be the primary bread winner, which breaks her heart because the hours she works prohibit her from seeing the kids during daylight hours. However 2014 may be better for us, I may be getting a job in the greenest of green industry, water reclamation. I am working with, what is now in a garage shop, but soon this will explode, basically the device invented can take 100 gallons of waste water and in just a few minutes convert it into potable drinking water. Anyway, thanks for your expert ability to slander with style, and if I manage to get the wife her dream I may not be as stressed out as I am right now.

Merry Christmas, and have a Happy New Year!

    2. The best to you and the wife Mike.

Another year, another year of fun.

Hope that school thing is working out well. Daughter and her infectious laugh is home for a month. Twins, enjoy the children as they grow up fast and you wonder where the time went.

Health and happiness is everything, work over rated as how much do we really need in life.

    3. Actually Brandt, I do tend to agree that we are not that far apart in vision. I want to see people do well, but I also want to see people work hard. At this time in our country's history, we have an enormous amount of people from rich to poor who would prefer to use any method possible to positively skew their return relative to what they are willing to invest. Whether it's slacking from the poor or rent seeking behavior from the rich, it's pretty much the same mentality. I do indeed wish you a prosperous 2014. I think most of us would agree that less time spent in front of a computer is a good thing.

Lou, you hit on what has become a major revelation for me, work is overrated, which is why my wife isn't working and we are just living on one income. Truly, there is nothing we need that we cannot get, but part of the reason for that reality is that our desires have also changed. We could live with even less and once we leave Vegas, we likely will live with less material stuff. Part of why I have drifted further left over time is because I feel like more and more stuff has made people more miserable and made the people who don't have a lot of stuff even more miserable. Few countries can consume as cheaply as we can, but I feel like it's just become an opiate for us. Spending time with your family and friends and helping others seems way more productive than chasing dollars.

Best wishes to your family as well!

    7. Nice TD I have always been a fan of reuse of water for certain purposes and this system seems to fit that bill. Good Luck in this endeavor.

  2. I second the sentiments give above. We have division and our own vision but no one, at least on this blog, wish any harm to our great country. I hope that you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and if you don't return until after the New Years... A very save and happy time as well.

Of coarse, One never really knows anymore if they can say Merry Christmas... I said it to a clerk the other day and got this reply.... "Yea Man... Whatever"...
