US presidential hopeful Donald Trump has agreed not to run as an independent candidate if he loses the Republican nomination for the 2016 elections.
My question is this: If he fails to get the nomination, do you think he will honor his pledge, or will he go maverick and run as an Independent?
Here is a good article from the Christian Science Monitor that says Trump wins by signing the pledge.

He'll go rogue if he loses the nomination.
ReplyDeleteHe's not planning on losing.
DeleteWhatever your political leanings, you have to admire the man. He is accustomed to being the top dog and he will manage the show to suit himself. His poll ratings this morning are higher than those of the next 4 candidates combined. If the RNC thinks they can control him, they better think again.
ReplyDelete"I will be totally pledging my allegiance to the Republican Party and the conservative principles for which it stands,"
ReplyDeleteThis shouldn’t be too difficult to circumnavigate for any of the candidates... last time I looked, conservatism isn’t very highly represented in most of the Republican Party planks.
The oath is not legally binding anyway. Also he left off the "one party under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all".
