  1. Excellent. I usually go to UK myself to learn about what's going on in this country. Not sure why, but suddenly I'm thinking about somebody, can't remember who, who said we might need some 2nd amendment solutions if the election process doesn't work out "the right way".

Hope all is well in your world gotta.

  2. Now that's really funny! "Ammunition solves a lot of problems" sounds exactly like the Ferguson militants are being sponsored by the NRA.

  3. Some of the national leaders met with President Obama on Nov. 5 for a gathering that included a conversation about Ferguson.

According to the Rev. Al Sharpton, who has appeared frequently in St. Louis with the Brown family and delivered a speech at Mr. Brown’s funeral, Mr. Obama “was concerned about Ferguson staying on course in terms of pursuing what it was that he knew we were advocating. He said he hopes that we’re doing all we can to keep peace.”

In a separate piece, The New York Times reported:

Today, Mr. Sharpton still faces personal federal tax liens of more than $3 million, and state tax liens of $777,657, according to records. Raw Talent and Revals Communications owe another $717,329 on state and federal tax liens.

But according to state officials, his balance on the state liens is actually $220,000 greater now than when they were first filed during the years 2008 through 2010. A spokesman for the State Department of Taxation and Finance said state law did not allow him to provide any further details.

Records reviewed by The New York Times show more than $4.5 million in current state and federal tax liens against him and his for-profit businesses. And though he said in recent interviews that he was paying both down, his balance with the state, at least, has actually grown in recent years. His National Action Network appears to have been sustained for years by not paying federal payroll taxes on its employees.

    1. Well played William, well played. I mentioned a flamboyant right wing asshole, you bring up Sharpton's tax situation which is good for defending the honor of someone who is likely a man crush for you but adds nothing relevant to the discussion here. For what it's worth, I am not a big fan of Sharpton. He's done very legitimate civil rights work, but he's no hero of mine.

    3. In an parallel universe, I hope the 2016 election is between Rand Paul, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. While I can't ignore the obvious cynicism I feel at a story like this one, I also can't deny I admire Paul for making the effort, because clearly, no one else in the Republican party will. A guy like Paul will never occupy a centrist mind set, but the sheer fact that he is willing to take some abuse for reaching out to a group his party has completely written off could be enough to get me to show up and vote for him in the primaries.

    4. I thought the IRS only went after right wing tea party type groups. Now I am totally confused.
