I wonder what Trey Gowdy is thinking today

Classic Washington way of doing things, release bad news on a Friday http://www.cnn.com/2014/11/21/politics/benghazi-attack-report/

From the article, "The final report, from Chairman Mike Rogers, R-Michigan, and ranking member Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, D-Maryland, concludes there was no intelligence failure prior to the attack, no stand-down order to CIA operatives trying to go assist at the besieged consular building and found conflicting intelligence in the wake of the attack about the motive and cause, which were reflected in early public comments by the administration."

Is this over? Hell no it's not, but the outcome, determined several investigations ago, is not going to change.

  1. "The Select Committee on Benghazi received the Intelligence committee's report on the Benghazi terrorist attack (IN AUGUST), and has reviewed it along with other committee reports and materials as the investigation proceeds," spokesman Jamal D. Ware said in a statement. "It will aid the Select Committee's comprehensive investigation to determine the full facts of what happened in Benghazi, Libya before, during and after the attack and contribute toward our final, definitive accounting of the attack on behalf of Congress."

Then why worry? Another committee report released (TO THE PUBLIC) under the cover of darkness late on a Friday evening followed up with prearranged media releases. This is all inside baseball as the report details have been known since AUGUST.

Why worry about the dozens of interviews that Gowdy has held "since August" with those formerly not contacted?

Why worry about where the information from those interviews will lead?

Why worry when Gowdy puts HRC back at the table for further questions, follow up questions, and cross examination? With no run out the clock time limits.

    What difference does it make?

Why worry? What's the big deal?

I have stated here before that I felt HRC would make up her mind on running for President based on the outcome of the mid-term elections. The election outcome is a dark data point on Hillary's decision matrix. Clearly the tide is receding for the dems.

Committee investigations produce shallow jaded results based on time limited and politically shaded statements. Gowdy stated recently that the interviews since September have shed light into many new areas, this is what a complete professionally run investigation does.

I formerly thought HRC's decision to run at 50/50. With the election results and the investigation in full swing I would handicap her likeliness of pursuing the nomination at three to one against.

Why worry, the dems have many other attractive leftest candidates.

    1. The election results certainly put a damper on the possible Clinton candidacy. If she runs, and I believe she will, the focus will probably be on the Republican civil war between the moderates and more vocal far right wing. Right now I am predicting it will come down to Hillary Clinton vs. Jeb Bush, a true dynastic battle of epic proportions. Interesting times.

  2. Washington (AFP) - A probe by a Congressional committee into the September 11, 2012 attack on a US compound in Benghazi debunked allegations that President Barack Obama's administration fell down on the job.

Since the assault on the US mission in the Libyan city, which left the ambassador and three colleagues dead, the White House, CIA and State Department have been accused of mishandling their response.

But the report released Friday by the House intelligence committee, which is led by some of Obama's fiercest Republican opponents, cleared the administration of all the most serious charges.

    5. In the appendix of the August report was evidence of government gun running from Libya to Syria. This is one reason the report was issued during the darkness of a Friday night.

Does anyone remember the liberal media shit storm over Iran Contra?

      Much, much more to follow.

    7. William why does it matter where Obama was? He gives thoughts he gives orders he moves on and let's the underlings handle it. THAT'S how the presidency works. He doesn't have to sit in a room on a radio communicating with Benghazi. That's why we have the little people in the government to do the shit work.
Gun running from Libya to Syria. That may very well be what the CIA station chief in Benghazi was protecting by delaying the response of his team.
