Obamacare will increase the long-term federal deficit by $6.2 trillion, according to a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report released today.
Senator Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.), who requested the report, revealed the findings this morning at a Senate Budget Committee hearing. The report, he said, “confirms everything critics and Republicans were saying about the faults of this bill,” and “dramatically proves that the promises made assuring the nation that the largest new entitlement program in history would not add one dime to the deficit were false.”
President Obama and other Democrats attempted to win support
for the health-care bill by touting it as a fiscally responsible
enterprise. “I will not sign a plan that adds one dime
to our deficits — either now or in the future,” Obama told
a joint-session of Congress in September 2009. “I will not sign it if it adds
one dime to the deficit, now or in the future, period.”
The new report exposes the “lack of honesty” surrounding such
claims, Sessions argued. “This is how a country goes broke,” he
said.

Wow! I wonder if former House Majority Whip Clyburn still feels giddy about PPACA. Think NBC will ask him?

Jean, The Obama administration is getting what it wants, to make victims of us all. Broken down bankrupted classes requiring government aid at every turn.
DeleteEvery program is designed to add to our debt nationally and personally. To destroy private wealth and property ownership. Every program a morass run by the ruling elite class. Every program spoon fed to we proles.
Jean, this is what communist tolalitarians do. They watch as we simmer then boil in the ever increasing heat of the crock pot.
1773-2009 Join Us before it's to late. We support the tenants of limited government created by our founders.
Yep you are right. And everything based on LIES. How about the latest lie that the Taliban was on the run? Or that Al Qaeda is a shadow of itself? Or that illegal aliens mass released from jail because of cuts from sequester when those cuts haven't even occurred yet. How about Big Ben's testimony today saying that all its assets are performing at 100% but they are going to hold on to them indefinitely. Or how about confirming an anti-semite to secretary of defense or how about Jack Lew as treasury secretary. Obama is a wanna be dictator. He laments how he can't do it all by himself, but he comes pretty damn close.
DeleteSad but true Live Free.
DeletePPACA Section 9010 would impose a tax on health insurers that would start at $8 billion in 2014 and increase to about $14 billion by 2018.
ReplyDeleteHigher insurance costs headed your way.
And Live Free, Kerry, what about that dope. Explaining overseas that you have the right to be stupid in America because of our 1st amendment.
ReplyDeleteThe right to be stupid compared to what John?
William,
DeleteI caught that on TV. I seem to recall more (negative)commentary when Governor Romney remarked about the state of readiness of the London Olympics. The MSM seemed to decry his comments as embarrassing.
Did any of you hear any criticism of the SoS's comment?
Jean
Sorry. I forgot to add that the SoS is right, we DO have the right to be stupid, as evidenced by . . . well, I'll stop there. :)

Thank you Cabela's!
ReplyDeleteThe 2.3% Medical Excise Tax that began on January 1st is supposed to be “hidden” from the consumer, but it's been brought to the public’s attention by hunting and fishing store Cabela’s who have refused to hide it and are showing it as a separate line item tax on their receipts.
Anyone still believe Obama didn't raise taxes on the middle class?
