Now is the time to act. We need to rid The Middle East of the only real atomic threat on this earth, Iran. If we cripple Iran's nuclear program we leverage all the little players, like Syria.
Any decent look at the region reveals that Iran is the power broker, however if the nuclear program is crippled, for say a decade, the wealthy Iranians that fled the country years ago would finance an effort to denounce the state as a religious theocracy and return it to a democracy, capable of making peace with Israel and becoming the glue that cements all the rogue nations into a viable economic force again.
If, if Obama wants to have a legacy, a sneak attack on the Iranians nuke program, coordinated with leveraging Syria, which is an Iranian puppet anyway, and we could bring stability to the region, sweep out the threat of the Muslim brotherhood and return the region to prosperity.
As long as we allow Iran to lead the region as a pseudo quasi religious oligarchy, and we allow then to leverage the nuke option, we will fail.
Iran needs to be the focus of ALL.... ALL of our pressure, F Syria, take down Iran and the region will take care of itself.
Tell me this is not scary.

I purrty much agree ... France and anyone else wanting to join the fray, y'all take Syria. We take Iran, flat out, not one stone left standing, mosques, military installations, suspected installations ... no ROEs, no touchy feelys ... Tehran, one sheet of multi color glass. You just think no one remembers your embassy seizure.
ReplyDeleteWe pay Israel a lot of taxpayer cash to keep the Middle East under control. Let the Israelis take Iran out. Also, if we can't even take out a few targets in Syria, how in Alah's name can we take Iran on. Iran is a much more difficult foe than Iraq was due to its size and geography. Let's face it, Iran will be a nuke nation soon and that will make them untouchable like North Korea. Since Americans want no part of even Assad, why would they want to attack Iran? That WOULD turn into a major, protracted war and bankrupt our nation. Obama isn't as dumb as Bush was so Iran is out. -USSNJ
ReplyDeleteConsider the reality of the region. Iran is the big dog, if they get nukes they'll take out Israel, jersey, you know war tactics, you cut off the head of the leader and the rest of the body dies.
