I have a hard time getting my head around the conservative or at least the right leaning side on your argument Angie. Hours are spent scolding the liberal left on personal responsibility but at the end of the day if someone on the right dislikes the behaviour, they are just as quick to want to legislate it out of existence as the left is for things they don't like. You may not like a prostitute but the only thing I think that the government has to say is.... how much did you make so we can tax your income? (of coarse I have some problems with that taxing approach as well). Actions have consequences... If you drink responsibly, you can have an enjoyable time and no one should have a thing to say... drive drunk, assault someone, go to work incapacitated.... you pay the consequences. So take the lessor drugs out of the hands of armed gangsters and treat adults like adults.... Get caught giving a kid a joint or a cigarette or a beer... you go to jail. .... Of coarse some drugs are inherently too dangerous to make legal but give people some credit and the responsibility to live their own lives...

Futhermore, the failed gun legislation would have opened up the door for backdoor gun registration which in EVERY example in history has led to confiscation. As stated above, we know what you profess, but you are no professor of history.
