Chris Christie found not guilty

Governor Christie was found to be blameless in the internal investigation of "Bridge Gate". His detractors, however, are not convinced.  Here is the story from Reuters: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/27/us-usa-politics-christie-idUSBREA2Q0VD20140327

    1. Hi Pfunky. Yep, the Democrats are saying that the investigation was nothing but a coverup, just like the Republicans are saying about the Benghazi report. Oh well...

    3. Come on William, the reference to Benghazi refers to the introduction into the political environment of a divisive issue meant to discredit a candidate. No one has suggested that murder is equivalent to inconvenience. Each side is ignoring parts of the respective reports that refute their own interpretations. That is the point.

    4. A low information voter watching MSNBC never ending coverage of Bridge Gate would form a different opinion. Don't kid yourself.

  2. There's plenty of timeline evidence to convince an objective person of, at the very least, after the fact cover-up re: Benghazi. I see no convincing evidence that Christy was aware of the bridge fiasco beforehand...and no proof of subsequent cover up. However, choosing his own investigators will never persuade the doubtful.

    1. At the time of Bridge Gate Christie was the only potential candidate leading her highness. Check out his ratings now. This is the type of crap that turns independents and undecideds. They did the same thing to Palin.

Next on their rotisserie? Watch out current leader Rand Paul.

    2. Christie never lead Hilary but he was close.
William who reported the attack on Benghazi? The #2 guy. Why? Chris Stephens was already dead. It has been determined that there were no assets available to get there in time to make a difference. Just as I have let Bridge gate rest weeks ago so you too should let Benghazi rest. Quit dragging the families of the victims through this over and over again. You got your hearing let it rest.

    3. Benghazi is just beginning ric. As long as her highness is in contention it will remain hot.

Why weren't State and Defense coordinating assets to cover this type of incident? Why hasn't anyone been caught? I guess at this point "What difference does it make."

    4. If you would study this situation Chris Stephens was offered additional protection in the weeks before this incident and consistently turned it down. Only he would know why he took that chance.

      "Why hasn't anyone been caught".
Been caught for what William. The attack? They have Faraj al Shibi. Exactly what he knows and his involvement have yet to be determined but he is under arrest. We are also watching a terrorist leader in Egypt. Would it make you happy if we just dragged their bodies through the streets without the total facts. That's what separates us from them. We don't do shit like that. Yes there were security gaps. Yes Chris Stevens was in a dangerous role and I am sure he knew it. This witch hunt needs to end. It's crap like it that rends our country.

    5. Pfunky is right, as usual. I recall reading one of Ron Paul's speeches where he said "Democrats, Republicans, there is no difference...", if Rand Paul reiterated that truth then I would vote for him in a minute.

    6. The “bipartisan” Senate Select Committee on Intelligence last week put out a scathing report on the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on U.S. diplomatic outposts in Libya, citing “systematic failures” that led to the death of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

While the heavily redacted report released to the American public spread the blame, the committee repeatedly pointed the finger at former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s State Department.

In perhaps the most significant finding, the report said the intelligence community (IC), including the CIA, NSA and Pentagon, among others, delivered many warnings on the growing threats in Benghazi, but the State Department failed to take them seriously and increase security.

“Finding 1: In the months before the attacks on September 11, 2012, the IC provided ample strategic warning that the security situation in eastern Libya was deteriorating and the U.S. facilities and personnel were at risk in Benghazi,” the report said.

More: “The IC produced hundreds of analytic reports in the months preceding the September 11-12, 2012, attacks, providing strategic warning that militias and terrorist and affiliated groups had the capability and intent to strike the U.S. and Western facilities and personnel in Libya.”

Those “analytic reports” came with stark titles. “Libya: Terrorists Now Targeting U.S. and Western Interests,” said one from June 2012. “Terrorism: Conditions Ripe for More Attacks, Terrorist Safe Haven in Libya,” said another. And, “Libya: Terrorists to Increase Strength During Next Six Months.”

The committee’s conclusion: “Given these developments and the available intelligence at the time, the committee believes the State Department should have recognized the need to increase security to a level commensurate with the threat, or suspend operations in Benghazi.”
