Sometimes the media does rise up and find a purpose in life, besides a shill for the leftist government...

Totally premature. If we had the media from the Watergate era, he would be toast at least Hillary's chances in 2016. However we have the fawning media today who will totally downplay any negative story regarding the Dems.

Color me cynical. "

The quote above was a response to this topic, what say you today my friends...?

Friday, may 10 2013 I put up the topic...

"Declaring that "I am not a crook," President Nixon vigorously defended his record in the Watergate case tonight.. "I am not a liar" declared President Obama as he boarded Air Force One for the last time... July 4th 2013."

What say you now my friends and fellow posters here, is the door open, just a bit more..?

What say you now...

  1. That would be the best 4th of July since the 4th in 1776, however we would then have to deal with Joe Biden who is even more inept.

  2. There is no way in hell that this arrogant SOB will ever step down... and no way will this Senate impeach him.......

    1. While probably true about the Senate, a lot of those clowns are worried about their seats next year along with the Obamacare "trainwreck". You might just see some rats jumping ship before this is all over.

    2. I really do not think that they care as they knew it would come to this. Anyone with simple math skills could see that we cannot afford it. Anyone who has the ability to logic could see that it would cripple this country.

    3. Angie, we can't afford Obama care but we can afford what we have now? BANG (this is the sound of me hitting my head against the wall again)

  3. Well, here's me being stupid again proposing that what you people are bitching about has as much to do with you as it does some nefarious liberal plot to take your guns, your God and your money away from you.

Objectivity is key, and several of you Brandt, Brian, William and Angie do not possess a shred of it. EVERYTHING to you is an outrage, a crime, a coverup and goosestep toward fascism. It's not that don't possess the ability to discern and discuss, it's that you simply choose not to and instead choose the path of sheepdom and mob anger. As such, you plug into sharply divisive, non objective bomb throwers and echo their words thinking that THIS will finally bring down the leftist media. It doesn't.

In the days of Watergate, we still had an objective media and we had trusted news people who tried to give some objective commentary on what they were reporting. Today we have Fox news and MSNBC. These are money making ventures and they are entertainment. Their voice is so loud, and their audiences so large and so partisan that they do not have to tell the whole story. Those who watch them are so narrow in their views that they accept a slice of the story as being the definitive voice and miraculously, it always matches what they already believe.

One of the few sources of information I have these days that is more objective is the Young Turks with Cenk Yuguar. He spares no amount of criticism of Obama or anyone else out there. He was on MSNBC and he left because of the environment there. We don't have objective media today because we don't want it. It's that damn simple. The media these days tends to side with power. There was no pushback before Iraq, there was no pushback when no bankers went to jail, and on and on into this administration. Stop blaming other people for your addiction to one sided political porn.

    1. NPR isn't too bad, even though they have a bit of a bias. I like the Lehrer News Hour. Even the Washington Post sometimes surprises us with critical views and reviews of this administration.

Haven't heard of you Young Turks; might have to try it out.

    2. Out here in Vegas, I get it on direct TV on the "Current" channel. They also had picked up Spitzer's show. Cenk Yuguar, for a time, worked for MSNBC when his show started to draw some attention. During the election cycle, I saw him easily go after Obama as strongly as he ever did Romney.

I really don't subscribe to a far left view, which is why I can seldom tolerate MSNBC. I read Chris Hayes book awhile back and I generally appreciate the guests that he has on and what he chooses to cover. He is indeed a smarmy ass, as are most in cable news today. I used to read the Christian Science monitor because I was amazed at how they were able to write without any sense of personality at all. Kind of fascinating actually. But, I haven't really gone to hunt them down on the web. Part of why I come to this site is because there is such a strong right leaning audience. Some are moderate, but I think I am far and away the most progressive poster here. I certainly don't want to go to sites where everything I read confirms what I already believe.
